Simply beautiful. It really gets me in the mood to pick up a fantasy novel and start reading (something I haven't done in a while). Excellent work! A true masterpiece.

Fantastic work, Chad!
As with any great MOC, the details are what make this work so well -- from the 1x1 round bricks in the crenellations and windows to the tiled entryway. I really like how the lower part on the outside looks overgrown. The roof on the top of the tower is cool, and the fountain in the courtyard is a nice touch.
What really struck me when I looked at the full-size pictures is the way you used 1x2 bricks to build the wall. It's not something you'd notice from far away or in thumbnails, but it adds a level of detail that's wonderful.

Thanks again guys. Of course, i'm happy with how it turned out and I appreciate that it's front page .
I've decided soon, to remove the front balcony and make it identical to the side with the cross...after I take the inside pictures. The bottom door is the only entrance to the prison.
The inside tower will soon be up.
Dang, am I ever torn on starting a gate house for this or a Hobbit hole or even the house of Tom Bombadil. To much.
Cheers.

I got a few interior shots up now(I think the interior could still use work though.)

Yes, I agree, a little work is still needed. The high ceilings (though realistic), and the wide stair cases make it seem a little cramped. Maybe some windows on the interior (courtyard side) of the tower would help. My favorite pic is this one, for some reason. It just looks, I dunno, really cool to me.

Edit @ 7:57 P.M.: I just remembered, when reading the "Building the Falcon Fortress" topic, that I was going to say that the Crusaders need this castle to defend them from the Falcons' new Fortresses.
Edit 2 @ 9:27 P.M.: The dungeon pics are cool too. If the forestman really tries, he can escape through the rat hole!

Learning French.
Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

. Never scale my wall's, them pesky Falcons...only the Forestmen are so nimble. I'm having a little fun with this MOC now, as you can see...smcginnis wrote:Yes, I agree, a little work is still needed. Robin Hood is on his way to the rescue the trapped lad!
Edit: And he'll find out he's gone the wrong way...
Cheers.

I've made a change to the tower, the balcony is gone. I'm much happier with how it is now, it was definitely a weak point.
Change
When I tore the wall down, I took better shots inside.

It's much less friendly now... but that isn't a bad thing.

Beautiful work, as always. I like the look of the stairs for some reason.

I love it, good job. I must have missed the inside pics before, but its great inside as well.
As always the combo-balence of details and lack-of is worked out very well here. Keep it up, I can't wait for more of the keep/castle what ever you're planning on building.
