Norman Keep

Post by Magnus »

OK, I hope I get this picture image thing right...

Here are a few pics of my newest MOC, a compact keep which is the first part of my new castle project. Thanks to Abe Friedman for taking pictures at last weekened's WAMALUG meeting.

The keep from the outside:

I have since made the windows in the corners of the octagonal turrets much narrower.

...and showing the interior, what will be the great hall:

It is sort of hard to see, but in the upper right hand corner, squeezed into the square tower is a spiral staircase and a toilet. On the first floor there is a entrance chamber where an intruder is exosed to fire from holes in the ceiling and wall.

Even though I've seen this up close already, I
thought I'd still post about it.

I really like it! It has an early, simple design "look"
with some nice interior features. Well done, again.

2 things I'd like to see -

-Hinges for accessing the interior.

-Higher potty hole...Magnus, you know what I mean.
Remember - don't get caught with your pants down!

Nice to see someone use the turret top successfully. Nice protective battlements as well. Very well thought out. Thanks for sharing.

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It would be great if I could make space for hinge, but the way the turrets and arches in the wall are, makes it difficult.

I love it. Very creative, very well designed. Better than most Lego sets where you have to literaly fly to the top. Excellent. Best keep I've seen in recent memory.
