(reno)

Reno and Aros looked around. The screams of Luxus were ringing in Reno's ears. Daner had vanished. Aros and reno were alone.

(Luxus)

"get off me!!" Luxus shouted at the kidnapper. Luxus began kicking out violently. Then, luxus had done it. he kicked the kidnapper hard in the chest, and the kidnapper dropeed Luxus. Luxus stood, and ran towards the cover of the trees, he pulled out his slingshot, which he still had, and pulled a pebble of the floor, with accuracy even Bjarn would be proud of, the pebble struck the kidnapper between the eyes.
"ha!" Luxus laughed.
"ha... quite." the kidnapper wheezed as he bagan to stand up. But befire he could stand, 2 swords were at his neck, Aros mand reno standing behind him.
"wait! I was acting on orders from "the boss", i am nothing but a mercanary. please, dont kill me" he stuttered.
"The boss?" Aros asked.
"Y..y.. yeah, the boss, he commands me, and a couple of Jones Arleys boys."
"What were your orders!!??" reno shouted.
"I was to kidnap this little whelp, and lure you to me, then, i would kill you, and take the pendants." The kidnapper blurted out.
"why our pendants?" aROS slowly muttered.
"Because of an old "friend" of the boss's. Lord Void. he needed the pendants along time ago. Boss wanted to know what they were for."
Reno stood, thinking of this new imformation.

Grid: Q-11
Location: Approaching Dark Forest Shores

A small ship glided across the seas as a northerly wind blew. The ship was all but deserted, one man was at the helm, steering and charting his position simultaneously. Another motion on deck followed, as a black cat hopped onto the rail and looked curiously and a crossbow turret, before scurrying off down into the hull. The name on the ship was in plain view: R.S.V. Sheathed Phantom, a name not seen in these parts before.

"22.2 degrees...by 17...no that's not right, it's 11 by...by...17? I'm 11x17 almost at shore...which means less than an hour of sailing, right?" said the man to nobody in particular. The cat meowed and pawed at him. He took out a telescope and looked forward to the Dark Forest, several foresters patrolled the coast. He hopped down onto the inner "hull" which was actually open. The sail came down as he pulled the ropes, and the current pulled the boat towards shore. He ran to the front ballista deck and let the anchor drop. He looked at the beach and sighed. Then he petted his cat, pulled a chain lift to a rowboat, and hopped in. Rowing forwards, the water soon became shallow enough to wade in. He drudged onto the beach with the boat following. A man in lincoln green stopped him.

"What business have you in the Dark Forest? I have not seen you in these parts before."

The man solemnly replied, "My name is Sheath, I have come to give a certain man a taste of Megablocks."

TREVELAYN took out his saber as he approached the lines.
"What brings you here, Crusader? Looking for money in this God-Forsaken land?" quipped a soldier.
"Where is General Vos?" Trev asked.
"He is in the stronghold," came the reply, "Readying his next counterattack."

Inside the war room, a large map of the Dark Forest mainland was sprawled over an oaken table. Small markers, divided between Forester green, Falcon blue, Wolfpack brown and Dark Forest black, were scattered across the map, detailing allied and enemy positions.
"Alright... We have contained information that Fraun Jerlock, a Forestman ranger, and a large force of elite men have engaged Judas' Falcons and captured Decanis. I hope they intend to help us in this struggle." Gereld pointed towards Forestmen markers in the Seldan Forest region.
"I also have information regarding the ousted Wolfpack king, Willem Blackcloak. It appears that they are traveling through crusader lands this very moment. Their intentions are unclear... But if they are enemies, God help us all."
Several of the commanders in the room nodded somberly.
"So that removes DeCanis... But Nightblack lurks in the shadows." noted Daimyo Sushima.
"Yes... And we must use shadow to find him."
"Presicely why I'm here."
The commanders turned to face Trevelayn, who stood in the doorway.
"Let us prepare to make war, in the name of King Kath."
"Alright Kif, let's show these freaks what a bloated, runaway military budget can do"

The egg began to glow with heat until the egg suddenly burst, sending shards of shell in all directions.

Lying on the floor where the egg had been was.....

...a lizard.

Grid: G-10

LORD VOID stared at the lizard, confounded. Majisto was equally stumped. Lord Void turned slowly to Majisto and growled quietly "I believe you said that egg contained a dragon, NOT a lizard!"

Majisto trembled. "My Lord, there must have been some mix-up. I'm sure this can be explained!"

"Then explain it!" Lord Void shouted.

Majisto scampered off, beard swishing. Within a minute he had returned, toting a large and old-looking scroll. He unrolled it and scanned the runes printed on the page before giving a triumphant snort.

"My Lord," he said, relieved, "I know our plight. Before us is indeed the great dragon of Eroth Gamus, but we are missing two key ingredients needed to complete it's hatching."

"And they are??"

"Two very rare and magical objects, the Duel Pendants of King Kris!"*

BJARN looked about him, taking in the all the features of the flat Crusader land. What a dull place this Crusader territory is, Bjarn thought grumpily, No trees, no hills, nothing except grass and flatlands...

Bjarn stared up at the sun, telling the time. One o' clock. If I hurry I'll get to the tiny Crusader village Olgendale before nightfall.

Dale shook her awake. "Some one approaches..." he whispered.

Grid: Q-8
Location: Deep in the Dark Forest

Sheath walked silently through the deep woods, trying to follow the dirt path that wound it's way inland. He could hear the sounds of people talking up ahead, and stopped to listen in. One voice was a deep male, the other a squeaky female peasant. "What news do you bring, Hyniun? Tell our village of your travels."

Sheath recognized the man's voice as he spoke "Little to tell from down south. Just the usual, I'm afraid. Raids from the Wolf Pack galleys, Knight's Kingdom II trading vessels with supplies...oh, I should mention one thing, however."

"Tell me, Hyniun. You can trust a simple peasant girl, even if my father is the town's mayor. I promise I won't tell anybody, if it is that important." she pleaded.

"Yes, yes, I will tell. A very...well, strange man came by ship the other day to our South port. He broke the guard line after we denied him entry. No dead, 8 wounded. He traveled the road North. I don't come to warn your village, just...don't tell anyone, I don't want to start widespread panic." he tried to whisper. The girl stared in shock. Hyniun stared off into the woods for a moment and then left for a small house on the opposite edge of town. Sheath was worried. News of his arrival was spreading.

Location: Small Village Deep in the Woods

A loud clash broke the silence of the night. On the outskirts of the town, two men were locked in combat, sword against sword. One wore all black, and his gold sword shimmered in the night. One was in guard's armor.

"Who are you? Speak out, stranger! You have no business sneaking these parts at night!" the guard said.

"I will kill you if I must. My name is Sheath.” said the man in black. The clash of swords rang out three more times, as Sheath parried the man's blows. Then he went offensive. Two clashes rang out as Sheath brought his sword down low and then to the torso, both successfully blocked. A moment later there was a scream of pain and blood shone on Sheath's sword.

"Yeaach. Right in the neck." were the only words Sheath said for his victory speech. He looked back at the town and watched several houses light up as people investigated the commotion. Hyniun was the first man to find the dead guard. He looked around and caught a glimpse of gold blade in the forest. He then dashed off, following Sheath's blade. Sheath turned back and saw Hyniun following him. He stopped in a small clearing in the woods to speak with his adversary.

"Go back, my paladin friend. Your fate doesn't rest with my blade." said Sheath.

"If it doesn't, I will make it." was the reply. Once again, a metal clash sounded out in the night. Hyniun was in full plate armor with a heavy paladin's helmet. This made him slow, but tough. Sheath had extremely light chain mail on, nothing to counter a full suited Paladin with. But they say the fight lies with the strategy, and Sheath knew how to take advantage of that. Sheath's quick strikes to Hyniun's blade were a delay tactic; he was waiting for Hyniun to reveal his vulnerable underarm. A few seconds later, Sheath's chance came. He opened up his left side defense, letting Hyniun take an overhead swing to his right. Sheath leaped to his right just as the sword passed him and hit Hyniun's left underarm in a trailing stab. The blade went at least a foot into him. Hyniun made no sound as he collapsed to the ground, not one cry of pain. Sheath pulled off his helmet and looked him in the eyes.

"You'll regret killing me." Hyniun staggered as he bled.

"I have never felt regret for anything I do. This will be no exception. Sheath's sword went into Hyniun's neck at the spine. He then ran off into the woods, knowing that it was too dangerous to stay for much longer. He knew that what he was searching for would not be here. He moved North, towards the three lands crossroads.

Sir Terrance stood at the dock waiting for the boat he was about to board to come. As it sailed towards him, he was having flashbacks of how his father was killed, and remembering it made him very angry. He was told it was a Dragon Master who sent the dragon, but in his life he learned to trust no one. He boarded the boat and was ready to make way to the Crusaders land.

"Megabloks Foresters," cursed Nightblacke as the band of Dark Forest sentries approached the grizzled soldier warily.
"Block this, ye filthy best-locks!" he yelled, his saber slashing through flesh.
"I'll give ye all a good death, I will!"
Suddenly Trevelayn's saber crossed Judas'. Sparks flew, lighting, dimly, the forest clearing in the dark night.
"What have you come fer, Crusader scum? Do ye want a noble murder as well?"
"I've come to kill you, Judas you old braggart! you thought you'd escaped me forever!"
The swords clashed again.
"You came at just my prime... A wounded Falcon exile!"
"You'll kill just the same, best-lock!"
Trevelayn's sword cut into the Falcon's arm.
"I'm not done yet, Trevelayn!" Judas barked. The mercenaries leaped from the trees, a fierce clash ensuing. The swordsmen battled, a deadly dance in the moonlit glade, with blood the applause and dead men the audience.
The battle seemed lost for the Dark Forest when a shout rang out.
Trevelayn turned his head towards the sound, held to the ground by Judas' death grip, he used the distraction, kicking the exile off him.
"Come get your dues, Falcon!" screamed Vos, charging at him. The Falcon raised his saber to counter.
The golden kahli cut through the weak steel saber and into the Falcon's neck. Blood gushed from the headless spine of what was Judas Nightblacke as his head, a look of fear emblazoned on his face, rolled away.
"Alright Kif, let's show these freaks what a bloated, runaway military budget can do"

Grid: L-7 Location. Nearing Hemlock Stronghold

They had been riding for a day now. And had met no opposition so far. Suddenly four men clad in brown and wielding bows barred Fraun and Dordrot’s horses from going farther down the path leading to Hemlock.
“Say travelers.” Stated one of the brown clad men. “What be your business in Dark Forest land. I’m Rinjad captain of the scouts here. What is your name?”
“I am Fraun Jerlock of the Forestmen. And this is my companion Dordrot of the bulls and 200 of my men. I have come to aid Radjar Kath in the war against the Wolfpack.”
“Fraun Jerlock. You are a sight to sore eyes. We have been waiting your arrival for days now. Come we shall take you to Kath and his advisors.”
“Good. My men need sleep and rest before they are battle worthy. And we have a prisoner that needs to be dealt with.” The Captain Rinjad ordered one of his men to go ahead to announce their arrival. Rinjad then led the army to Hemlock Fortress. Fraun along with Dordrot and Rinjad go to Radjar and his council to discuss the strategy.
“My Lord.” Shouted Rinjad as they entered. Fraun has arrived.
“Fraun. How good to see you.” Smiled Radjar. “It has been a while since we last saw each other.”
“Indeed it has been. Buy we now must plan for war.”
“Sadly yes. We cannot catch up with each others doing at the moment. Let me introduce you to my advisors. You already know General Vos here, and this is Trevelayn. He is going to help us out with Judas Nightblacke.”
“Nice to meet you.” Smiled Fraun.
“Likewise.” Commented Trevelayn wryly.
“And who is this man with you Fraun.” Said Radjar.
“I’m Dordrot the Bull. At your service and your kin’s.” Said Dordrot.
“My word. I thought the Bulls were utterly wiped from the face of the earth.”
“Indeed not my good sir. In act the King of the Bulls is still alive and well last I heard.”
“Strange news indeed.” Nodded Radjar. But to business. How many men did you bring with you Fraun?”
“200. Radjar. And very experienced too.”
“Very well then. We plan our counterattack.”
Space rocks.

After they had planned Dordrot and Fraun had been shown to their rooms and gone to bed. After a good nights rest Dordrot sat up in bed.
“Radjar seems like a goodhearted man.” Thought Dordrot thought to himself. “Kind of like my friend Gorgod. Serious but good-natured at the same time. If only Gorgod would have come with me on that fateful day. Dordrot thoughts drifted back to the Bulls castle standing on the hill strong and defiant. And women and children scurrying around to get as far away as possible. The King ordering Dordrot to ride to the Black Knights to ask for aid. He remembered how he had asked Gorgod to come with him. But Gorgod said he wanted to stay and defend the city. How valiant and brave he was. He was only 19. He died defending the castle against those megablock filthy falcons. They would pay for the injustice they had done. They would pay.”
Just then Fraun entered the room.
“Dordrot. It is time for breakfast.”
“I’m not hungry.” Came the reply.
“Hodge helped with the meal. If that interests you any.”
Dordrot jumped out of bed in a flash and jogged down the hall to where Radjar sat already digging in to sausage, eggs, and sweet rolls (one of Hodge’s specialties).
“Good morning my friends. A nice day out is it not?”
“Indeed it is.” Said Fraun and Dordrot in unison.
“Sit down and eat.” Smiled a bustling Hodge. “I made plenty for all.”
General Vos joined them. And the four began discussing the things they had been doing over the years gone by.
Space rocks.

"So... theres a geeser on the scene, called Lord Void. he commands a couple of thos Jones Arley boys, Mercanarys, and this "assasin" we just met." The word assassin made Reno think of that Assassin, Faolan, maybe he would know of this force? But then again, the two had not left each other on the best of terms. Jones Arley. reno had once met the man, in an inn in taverlern. The man seemed nice enough, and thought very proudly of his men, he would not take lightly to traitors. Then there was Lord Void. He seemed to command the whole lot, under soem sorcerers way. Why he had ever wanted the Duel Pendants, Aros could not understand, but Reno had started forming ideas. Daner, a powerful wizrad, was nearly breaking a sweat under the pressense of the Pendants. He had told Reno and Aros to take the pendants to the Temple. reno had to do this. But, how could he! Lord Void, was after him. he had no proof, but he could sense it easily.
"we must now go..." Reno said, and the three stood.
"Where are we goin, sir?" Luxus asked
"Luxus lad.... I dont know."

Location: Three Lands Crossroads

The edge of the dark forest was in sight as Sheath ran North. The clearing known as the three worlds crosroads was in plain sight out of the trees. Several men, were standing about talking at the intersection, and guards patroled their sides of the border. Despite the war between the Wolf Pack and Dark Forest, the border here seemed fine. As Sheath exited the forest, he could tell he couldn't just walk into the Forest Men kingdom of the North. There would be much action to come...

Sheath waited for just the right time to strike. As the Dark Forest guard changed, he leaped into action, striking hard and fast. First man down was in a Dark Forest uniform. Next to go was a Forestman. Sheath lept from road to road, bringing his blade's full power onto multiple targets in a matter of seconds. In less than a minute, Sheath had killed 6 men and wounded 4. No enemy even tried to hit him, anybody who survived ran.

"It seems my reputation moves faster than my feet..." Sheath said. Sheath knew that it would be hard to catch up with what he was searching for, it was about to leave the Forestmen teritory for the sea. "But even a fool has a chance...even if it is a fool's chance." he remarked. "I will retrieve it..."

The ship crashed through the massive waves causing it to shake badly. Sir Terrance held tightly to the mast waiting for the storm to slow down. Then emerging from the water was a massive sea monster with it's silver teeth shining. The other people on the boat screamed in terror and a couple of them had bows and shot every last arrow at the beast. Sir Terrance grabbed his sword and stood at the edge of the boat waiting to be close enough to jump onto the monster and kill it. The time came and the brave paladin jumped onto the creatures back and slayed it. It fell to the water and Sir Terrance with it. He tried to swim and couldn't find the boat anywhere. He did notice something in the distance. He swam towards it and found a small raft with two people on it.

The scouting party and two misfits made good time around Hemlock, the tree aided them well, and their experience in the woods allowed them to move fast. "We are making good time, but I hope it is fast enough to get to the Wolfpack before Defoe causes anymore damage." Willem said. "We will, I would not worry about that, Defoe had to regroup before he can attack again." Issac said. The group moved quickly with little talk to avoid anyone discovering their movement. "We should be upon Defoe just before dawn." "He is going to be quite surprised to see you Willem." Issac said. "And I have a bit of a surprise for him." Willem said with a bit of a smile.
