LEGO World Denmark

Post by architect »

Jan Beyer of the LEGO Community Team asked me to spread this message about next year's LEGO World in Denmark:
Dear all, I would like to let you know that LEGO Denmark is planning on doing a LEGO World Event in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2008.

The event will take place in Copenhagen and the event dates are from the 13th of February until the 18th of February. Set up will take place on the 12th and take down will be on the 19th.

The whole event space will be around 7000 m2 and LEGO Denmark count with at least 25000 visitors.

We would like to do an AFOL MOC exhibition on this event and would like to ask you to let me know if you are interested in take part in the event the whole time or part time with your MOCs.

We are working at the moment on special accommodation arrangements and are also ready to help with special transportation needs.

We will arrange the usual things you need in connection to display you models like fences, insurance, tables, power and other things.

Beside the AFOL exhibition we will have building events, model and set exhibitions other LEGO related things, a big shop and some music.

If you interested in participating in this big exhibition or would like to know more please write an email to Jan@LEGO.com.

Thank you and hope to see you there.

Truth be told, I was actually tenatively planning a trip to Europe in February next year...how convenient!

Copenhagen, here I come!

Finally! A Lego convention for the European fans! Just think; after years of watching Brickfests and Brickcons and Brickworlds you finally get this huge convention, sponsored by the Lego group itself! Totally awesome. Take great pictures!

This sounds pretty cool. Darkie, if you go, take lots of pics (but then you always do :))

Already got an e-mail back, I'm on Jan Beyer's list to get notifications of updates on the plans as far as accomodations for AFOLs mean, but he said he and his colleagues are working on getting discounted accomodation in Copenhagen for those AFOLs that are bringing MOCs.

Depending on how many applications they get they might have a selection procedure for the MOCs to be shown, but once again, if he has updates on this, he'll send them around.

I already applied for a little spot for my 6081 plus since Copenhagen is easilly within driving distance from where I live. If there's no selection procedure I'll definitely have it on display there. Should it happen I can't display it, I'll still be going and taking lots and lots and lots of pictures of everything :)

For those of you who are also going, we could arrange a little Classic-Castle member meeting :)

Count me in! At the moment, I'm coming, but it's a far away date so things can change.

I assume most who were interested in this have already gotten the message but here it is anyway:
Dear all, we want to give all participants and visitors of LEGO World Denmark a premium experience and we felt that this was due to short time and some sponsor and planning issues not possible. Therefore we have decided to postpone the LEGO World Denmark for a year. The new dates will be 12th – 17th of February 2009.

We hope you will still be interested in participating the event and thank you for now for your interest.

Kind regards, med venlig hilsen, mit freundlichen Grüssen

Jan Beyer

I found it a bit ironic that after all this time there has been no real shows like this in Europe! I think I always assumed there were for some reason...

Well, glad to see that LEGO has stepped in and is hosting one itself! Very cool! Can't wait to hear about how this all goes~
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.
