NOT CONSTRUCTED
All Done!

Hello, Classic-Castle!

With all the whispers of the upcoming BrickCon 2008, it's now time to put the all call out for your sigfigs.

For newcomers to the community, your sigifig is your plastic representation of yourself. This does not have to be castle-y for our purposes; not everyone has a castle oriented sigfig. While preferred, it's certainly not required. :)

The ultimate goal is to get as many sigfigs from CC as possible, line em all up, and take a picture. Pretty simple, right? Here's a look at previous photos:

BrickFest PDX 2007

Northwest BrickCon 2007

There are ALL sorts of figs there. It's a ton of fun. Don't worry, though: sigfigs will be treated with the utmost respect, and will not be placed in compromisingsituations. ;) (Unless, of course, you'd like them to be, and I assure you the CC attendees would be more than happy to oblige in sigfig abuse.)

Please also be aware that any fig posted in this thread WILL be present in the photo. Sometimes it’s hard to see since there are so many figs, but I can assure you, everyone will be represented. (Keep in mind that LEGO is not an easy medium to photograph under the best conditions, and this is taken at a convention. With lots of bad lighting.)

Since I said it so aptly when I posted this for BFPDX and NWBC07, I'll just plagiarize my own post:

FOR ATTENDEES: Please be sure to bring your sigfig with you. Once the schedule for NWBC becomes more apparent, I'll figure out a time for the figs to assemble somewhere in the display for the picture. All signs point to sometime Saturday. Details for us will be worked out later.

FOR NON ATTENDEES: You have a choice! You can either A) Post in this thread or send me a PM detailing what your fig looks like, or B) if you have a custom fig, you can send it to me and I'll be sure it gets returned to you.

For Option A: You MUST provide picture reference for your fig. For example, my sigfig is this:

Image

It's a clear photo, and it's easy to reference the torso, face, hair, and legs. If you don't have a photo and aren't able to take one, please browse either Peeron or Bricklink and give us the references. This makes it easier on us, the attendees, to construct your figs. If you have a particularly rare piece for any of it, please also consider alternatives: If your sigfig uses the forestwoman torso, for example, or the white ninja, please give us a cheaper, easier-to-find alternative. With the massive collections between the attendees, we should be able to construct your fig, but we'd like a back up plan.

For Option B: Please send me a PM, and I will let you know what snail-mail address to send your fig to. If at all possible, Option A would be best, because it has less room for the USPS to err and lose your fig. :) But if you really want YOUR fig to be there, we'll do what we can. Just shoot me a PM.

After NWBC, photos will be posted in a myriad of sites. I'll have mine in my flickr account, and I'm sure plenty will be on various image hosting sites that are used by the community.

Pleas post photos of your fig prior to SEPTEMBER 19, 2008. This is earlier than before; it will give us more time to construct them all. If you are sending me your fig, PM me no later than September 15. I must receive the fig prior to September 30.

(Attendees: shoot me a PM to let me know if you would be able to help construct SigFigs. I'd like to avoid duplicates, but I'd rather have those then not at all. Thanks!)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Just post em' here. :D

Yay! I'll bring mine on up.

Oh, and I can probably help make at least a few. I'll bring all of my fig stuff up there, so anything you need, I'll do my best to do it!

Great! Thanks for organizing this again Darkie.

I think I deleted the bigger picture of my guy so the picture to your left will have to do. The only difficulty with my guy is the shiny armor. Other than that it's just the smiley head, red hip with blacks legs, Mutt's hair, and this Dragon Knight torso. Oh, and a compromising situation would be acceptable (I know I'm going to regret that :) ).

Here he is:

As seen to the immediate left, the helmet can be replaced with blond hair, if it makes things easier.

EDIT: I suppose it would be a good idea to point out that he's using thishead.

Hey there!

I am most certainly bringing my sigfig up (and my wife's, too!).

More to the point, I can certainly help build several figs, and will have all my figures/fig parts there as well, to help cover any emergency to the best of my ability, er...collection.

Can't wait! Oh, and for anyone else who is unsure, it really is alot of fun and your fig will be respected and returned. I can vouch!

Hey Caylin,

I'd love to attend in fig form. As before, my sig-fig is:

Dumbledore's head
Brown Jedi hood
brown torso and legs
2 brown capes, one in front, one in back
black rubber band to make a belt

Image

Thanks,
Bruce

I'll be there, of course, but I probably won't be able to contribute to the recreations of others' sigfigs, since my own figs will be in use elsewhere.

Yes, yes, this is expected... but if I were not intending already to lend my elder brotherly support to this venture, how would you know what my sigfig looks like? It's not like my avatar ever sported one...
