Legoworld 2008
Back from Legoworld, exhausted but happy
We had a total of 65 thousand people spread out over 6 days, making this year's Legoworld yet again the worlds biggest Lego event. Apart from meeting a lot of Lego enthusiasts, I had some great conversations with TLC personell, like Jan Beyer, Marc Stafford and many more.
The days were exhausting, the nights lacked sleep (we slept in a bungalow with a group of guys and gals (well one gal actually) from Lowlug. This meant deep meaningful conversations over a glass of beer until far into the night, resulting in only a few hours sleep before being up and about all day again "entertaining" 11 thousand people per day, boy can 11 thousand people ask a lot of questions!
It was great meeting the people I met, and great seeing the people I know again, I will definitely be there again next year.
There will be many pictures soon!

Sounds like a lot of fun! 65,000 people over 6 days? Wow. Nearly 11,000 a day!
Glad you had fun. I'll have to put this on my list of lifetime goals.

It was very great indeed!
But I had no idea where to find you, aliencat?
Were you close to the Benelug Layout? (next to soestdijk)

Man! that was awesome! I still hold it in my dreams :P
I also really enjoyed talking to everyone that I talked to (including aliencat and some people from belug and lowlug) and there were many little shops and stalls with lego at rock bottom prices! I spent 70 euros in 2 hours, expanding my army with 22 minifigs and 3 sets!
An overall great time. from morning till afternoon and the time just went to fast
Hoping to go next year (if my grades are good)
Marijn aka Teherean.

Yep, we were one stand down from you. You remember Menno Gorter and his robots? That was part of our Lowlug stand, Menno Gorter is also a Lowlugger.castlestrike666 wrote:It was very great indeed!

If you were standing in front of the robot battle arena we had at the front, my MOCs were in the far left corner and the far side, with the big castle all the way in the corner next to the UFO crash site.

Was that castle with the crashed ufo next to it yours?
And I can remember your stand very well! I've been walking there enough this weekend

I also just posted detail pictures of the UFO crash in the General Lego section.
I did see your Japanese house with garden in the Benelug layout, but didn't get a chance to say hi to you. I guess 11 thousand people a day keep one pretty busy

Yeah
But I've been talking to you then I was asking questions about your castle and the ufo. I think it was sunday, and you were sitting with your mocs in the corner.
I was together with another Belugmember. Don't know if you remember
Maybe you want to give me your email in a pm?
Grtzz

I'm sorry my good man, but I don't think I remember. I talked to so many people this past week at Legoworld. Re: Legoworld 2008
This topic is a bit old, but I'll try to bring new life into it!
After a dark period of almost a year, I'm getting a bit back into LEGO. I've never been to Brickworld, but I've heard of it from my nephew. I would like to try to go to this year's Brickworld, but does anyone know when it will be this year?

Re: Legoworld 2008
Brickworld (Chicago) has already been, but since this is the Legoworld topic, I'm sure you mean when is Legoworld this yearGijs25 wrote:I've never been to Brickworld, but I've heard of it from my nephew. It starts on the 22nd of october and ends on the 27th of october. If you still want tickets you gotta be fast, so far every year has been sold out pretty far in advance, even last year with 66 thousand visitor tickets available.
See www.legoworld.nl for details on where/how to get tickets. Your local Intertoys should have them too.

Re: Legoworld 2008
Yes, I meant Legoworld . Only 1 thing; I don't know if my parents want to drive me all the way to Zwolle... I'll ask, and when I know if I can come, I'll buy tickets and let you know. Do you already know with which MOCs you'll be standing on Legoworld this year?
