NWBC in Pictures -- combined thread --

Post by plums_deify »

Well, it's Monday. I suppose I am sufficiently recovered from the weekend. John (Jail) was there as well. I figure this can be a thread for NWBC Pictures. Wheee!

Okay. First, the Castle section. This behemoth won Best Detail Castle, Best Castle, Best in Show, and Public Best in Show. Yeah. It was cool. Apparently it was also the victim of a nasty space invasion, that I did not see.

He's just so happy to get eaten!

Other Historical had some excellent stuff. I'd say more, but that's John's thing, so he can tell you about it.

Mecha had some excellent stuff, including an old favorite, Johnny 5.

I figure I'd better mention Space because that Crevass was amazing. The last day saw a sheep invasion of the moonbase.

The DSII speed build was...boring. That thing is incredibly wobbly. The time set was 1:30:30.

Finally, MicroScale. This was really cool to see.

The whole gallery is here. Most of the folders should be public. If not, give it an hour. They will be.

I was going to say - is he being tickled (http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/darki ... g_7508.jpg) or eaten?! :-P

These were a real pleasure to look at Darkie - thanks for posting them - it's amazing what you all do when you get together!

Doesn't that ogre/giant thing show up every year? That moonbase canyon is really cool.

Hey all,

Importing my post over to consolidate NWBC gallery threads. I'll sticky this thread for a week or so to make it easy to find NWBC discussion.

NWBrickCon is over and done for the year. Any participants here want to share their stories?

The first gallery of pics from the convention comes from Mark Neumann:

As per usual, it looks like there were a lot of inter-theme battles going on, with spacers and fleebnorks besieging Robin Sather's giant castle and a herd of valiant sheep toppling a mecha.

Edit: Here are Allenu's photos

Who built this castle?

Just wanted to let them know about their historical incorrectness on the arrow slits :P Still a cool MOC though!

Justin Major built that castle.

He prefers that style, apparently, for windows. And it's okay to not be historically correct--you didn't even comment on the stuffed duplo dragon! :P

Justin gave me quite a tour of that castle actually, and it's four towers lift off as does the whole main floor. Inside is a fairly good-looking interior. He said he wasn't finished the interior, but what he had was pretty cool already. It was also called Castle Bley: It was entirely bley, excepting perhaps a handful of peices.

Hey, rather than me continuing to add new galleries, I'll just link to the official NWBrickCon site that has a page with links to galleries.
