Yes! Sounds fun, and since its your idea, I think you should organize it! Give you good administrative experience and all that. ;)

Sure, Tom. I can do that. :D

So! CCer's!

Going to BF PDX? Great! Bring along your sig-fig. Send me a PM and let me know if you're planning on making it. I'll probably do the photo either Late Saturday or early Sunday, depending on what works for everyone's schedules. Sound good?

Once the display is more finalized, I'll figure out a spot where every can place their figs within the display, so as we all arrive, you stick your fig there without having to figure out where I am (or someone else is) to get your fig to the right place.

Sound good?

Space usually just lines up their figs in a group photo pose; we should have all the figs doing something, like fighting a beastie together. Also, I believe space doesn't just limit theirs to the people attending but invites others to mail theirs in to be included, or send pictures to someone who can reconstruct the fig and bring it with them.

wuntztwice: CCC buildings are excellent, I think at NWBC the only person who had any was Tom, which made things interesting since we had a whole section planned for CCC which ended up being a little sparse.

Tom: Is your display going to be part of that 40'x 7 1/2', or are you disassembling it?

On the fig exchange, are we talkin' sigfigs? I hope not because it sounds like fun otherwise.

Remember folks that Expo day is April 1st, thats right, April Fools Day! Ooo the possibilities. I think some of our planning should be for a prememptive strike upon unsuspecting .spacers! A few well-placed Black Falcons with Brick Arms weapons could do a lot of damage, if ya know what I mean!

Perhaps Sir Robin "running away and buggering off" would be some of the fun we could have back our Colossal Classic Castle Display! Any kind of subtle (and I mean subtle) anachronism would be a lot of fun. It would be cool to see if any visitor spots what we do. Maybe knights playing with a Playstation in the main hall. Or kitchen knaves working the Starbucks or Mickey D's in the sculery...

The possibilities are endless!

Excellent Caylin thanks! I agree with Brendan that we need to have our figs doing something and yes we should open it up to everyone would like to be included. Caylin I can work with you on that if you'd like.

CCC buildings would probably be the most needed item. True my buildings got spread pretty thin and I've got about 20. I've got 6 more in work right now and planning on another 10 or so.

My landscape sections are currently together still but one by one I'm going thru them... terraforming. 8) I've also started on 2 new sections 5'x5' and 5'x7 1/2'.

April 1st will be fun.

No, the fig exchange is not for sigifgs. You can use it if you wish, but you do not have to.

Ok. Well, it looks like I have to organize this exchange. Please bear with me if I am not doing a good job.

So, everyone interested in participating please drop me a PM that includes your username, real name, and if you would rather have a 1-on-1 exchange or a Dirty Brickster fig exchange.

A dirty brickster fig exhcange is when you all bring a fig, and put them in a pile, then everyone gets into a circle around them. Next, everyone draws a number (1-however many people there are participating). Then, whoever has #1 picks a wrapped fig. That person then opens the fig, so everyone can see. The next person can either pick a wrapped fig, or steal the 1st person's. This continues, although only 3 steals can happen before a new present has to be taken. The person with the last number had all control  .

So, agian, PM me if you are interested in the fig exchange.

Thanks!

I'd prefer doing the 1 on 1 exchange. We had fun doing Dirty Brickster with sets at the last Brickfest, but in my opinion it's too time consuming when dealing with minifigs especially when some will be doing customs and some will not. Also, people's feelings won't get hurt if their gift's receiver keeps trying to pawn off for someone to take.

A 1 on 1 is much better just like what we do here yearly. That way there's no need to gather everyone in a certain area at a certain time (especially since it's mainly CC'ers doing this), there was so many other official events going on at the last Brickfest that I wasn't able to eat lunch both days. This is just one less thing to worry about. With a 1 on 1 people can just seek each other out during the convention. Which is kind of cool, especially when you don't know what the person looks like, it's kind of like a crazy game of hide and go seek.

I have kittens.

And an estrogen army, ready for the invasion.

On a slightly lighter note, yeah: I have no problem opening up the fig-photo shoot to all CC members.

In a couple weeks, I'll make a post and have people PM their fig's information. I may need some help from you guys, as I have a limited number of castle figs. I see no reason why we cant assemble a large amount. Also, if anyone's willing, they can simple SEND their fig to PDX via the USPS (and me ;)) instead of simply creating one. All figs would then be returned to their owners.

Does that sound good?

I was wondering if a collection of burning CC buildings would be cool and/or doable. We could set up a battle inside the village and have the buildings being ransacked around it. Any takers? My vikings are now about 50 strong and would love to pillage a village.

There are people who can help you. The first step to overcoming a problem is to admit it, so you are well on your way. Seriously though, my Vikings would love to meet your kittens. [inside joke]There is some unfinished business, involving some Rogue Knights, I believe.[/inside joke]

Well with the room we have to work with I hope we can have at least 2 hopefully 3 villages with 10+ homes each. One or two of those burning and being ransacked would be great. I'll try my hand at a burning building.

I'll see what I can do, too, about a burning building. I have hundreds of those flame pieces, so I'll see if I can set up an inferno or two.

I may have enough pieces to do a few smallish Tudor homes. I'll see how I feel once I've got the Cathedral finished.

Problem?! I don't have a problem! Yes, I enjoy the kittens, and yes, they do terrible things, but I'm not an enabler! Please! Just...Eek! Nooooooo!

I should be able to do a few burning buildings (exact number will be figured out later) and I am working on a modest tower fortress. The exact footprint of the fortress hasn't been determined yet, because I am building it from the top down.

I thought about another lighthouse, but I'm going to save the flames for the burning village.

A lighthouse would be cool, though...I suppose you could simply shrink the version you have now. While impressive, they didn't need to be THAT big.

The fortress, though, sounds very cool. :)

I can bring my angry mob and just redo the base for whatever we need it for.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=200341

I can also add another 20 figs with another 20 pitchforks if needed. Of course I'd want this to sit in the center of the table (I heard horror stories of kids on public days, sorry). :(

What time will things be wrapping up on Sunday? I may have to leave Saturday in order to drop my brother off then return to college. This is a major consideration in my decision of attendance. I would love to be able to provide you all with a more solid "yes" or "no" so any help is welcome!
