Brickfest PDX Classic Castle Minifig Photoshoot and Shindig!

Post by plums_deify »

Hello, Classic-Castle!

As some of you may or may not be aware, Brickfest PDX is getting closer. In a blatant borrowing of a .space tradition, it was decided that the sigfigs of attendees and non-attendees alike would love to get together for a bit of a photoshoot. Don't worry, though: sigfigs will be treated with the utmost respect, and will not be placed in compromising situations. ;) (Unless, of course, you'd like them to be, and I assure you the CC attendees would be more than happy to oblige in sigfig abuse.)

FOR ATTENDEES:
Please be sure to bring your sigfig with you. Once the schedule for BFPDX becomes more apparent, I'll figure out a time for the figs to assemble somewhere in the display for the picture. All signs point to sometime Saturday. Details for us will be worked out later.

FOR NON ATTENDEES: You have a choice! You can either A) Post in this thread or send me a PM detailing what your fig looks like, or B) if you have a custom fig, you can send it to me and I'll be sure it gets returned to you.

For Option A: You MUST provide picture reference for your fig. For example, my sigfig is this:
Image

It's a clear photo, and it's easy to reference the torso, face, hair, and legs (Or in my case, slope-brick). If you don't have a photo and aren't able to take one, please browse either Peeron or Bricklink and give us the references. This makes it easier on us, the attendees, to construct your figs. If you have a particularly rare piece for any of it, please also consider alternatives: If your sigfig uses the forestwoman torso, for example, or the white ninja, please give us a cheaper, easier-to-find alternative. With the massive collections between the attendees, we should be able to construct your fig, but we'd like a back up plan.

For Option B: Please send me a PM, and I will let you know what snail-mail address to send your fig to. If at all possible, Option A would be best, because it has less room for the USPS to err and lose your fig. :) But if you really want YOUR fig to be there, we'll do what we can. Just shoot me a PM.

After BFPDX, photos will be posted in a myriad of sites. I'll have mine in my flickr account, and I'm sure plenty will be on Brickshelf.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Just post em' here. :D

Hey Darkie,

I have plenty of figs, and I am a local for this event, so I can help construct non attending sigfigs. Let me know what you need. Excitement is buidling!

I, too, have lots of figs and quite a few accessories. I would be more than willing to help construct if needed. The more, the merrier!

This sounds cool, being unable to go to Brickfest (it's a really long swim) it would be kind of novel if my sig-fig or even a copy of him were to make the event ;)

That is why this is such a cool idea. You can be there in absentia!

Laugh out loud. Actually Keiran Perkins, super-fish, covers that distance before breakfast ;) We're made of stern stuff down here

On topic\ I would prefer to have mine recreated if possible (using a standard cape would be fine) but the breastplate and shield are not easy to come by ...

Here's his pic

That's a Luke Skywalker head btw - the image isn't great

I wouldn't mind seeing my sigfig recreated:

Just ignore the shield (it's a custom) and the rest is easy to come by.

This is a pretty cool idea. :)

I'm still a bit upset I won't be able to attend a fest this year, but maybe my sigfig can now...

Image

It's a bit hard to see, but he has a Star Wars episode II Anakin torso. His belt is from King Leo (from the first Kinghts Kingdom) but I don't care if he has a different belt, or doesn't have one at all.

Thanks.

Now if an Irish man can do it*, an Aussie should definitely be able to... it is only a little farther...

*The Guinness add featuring this epic feat may only have aired here...

I will plan on bringing my fig and if I end up not making it, he will travel down some other way!

My sigfig is my avatar, Jakob the Blacksmith:

Image

The headgear is a customized ninja cowl. It can be replaced with a black peasant cowl (or dk.grey/bley one if they exist). The torso is Jar Jar. Hopefully everything else is clear.

I remember Sava making one for a scene in one of his chapters. The way "I" was placed made it look like I was about to bean a knight on the head with my hammer!

So are you going to make him and send him to Darkie for the Brickfest photo? That is, after all, what this thread is all about. If it was made of standard pieces, one of us could build him there. But since its custom you would have to build and mail. Is that what you are wanting to do?

I´d be very glad to have my sigfig there (since it´s quite a long swim for me too ;))

My sigfig has this hairpiece in dark red (and if that doesn´t work the merman hairpiece from this set), this head, this torso(or this if you can´t find the vampire one), yellow hands and black legs. That´s about as close to a LEGOversion of me you can possibly get. Alternatively you could give him a black cloak and jedi hood if he ends up in a cold setting since that is what I look like during the winter :P

If there´s something that isn´t clear I´ll try to take a pic of him.
