Orcs or Trolls?

Postby LordZode » Fri Jun 27, 2008 3:19 pm

Do you think that in medieval times people really fought orcs/trolls or skeletons? Why or why not?

I think that people must have fought orcs or trolls whichever you want to call them, and that we simply don't have any evidence of it.

Also, skeletons are real and have been PROVEN to exist.
P.S. If you need help making MOCs, making posts, or don't know what to do next, please, let me know! I'm here to help! ;)

:Checks calendar to make sure its not April fool's day again...:

Usually its a good bet that 1) the majority of the posts are performed by humans (I have suspected some Romulan activity) and 2) humans all have skeletons on the inside...

Are you talking "real life" Orcs? The closest thing to a real life Orc is some of the early ancestors of the Human species, called "hominids" (spelling?). We have found Dinosaurs and other early life forms going back millions of years but no Orcs yet. I think some evidence would have come up by now.

Let me check the calendar again, I apologize if your post was serious, but man...

Umm what? :? As much as I enjoy orcs and skeletons there was no such thing. These sets are called the fantasy era for a reason.

I don't know about back then, but I am an avid orc hunter. I fact, me and my buddies just slew one earlier today and we grilled it for dinner.

Difficult to say really. To be sure there are legends that deal with such creatures, and the origin of such legends are unknown, could be anything really. But so far as I know, orcs are a more modern creation, something writers in the last century or two have come up with (cough) Tolkien (cough). As far as I know, no real old tale or story has orcs in them, but my knowledge is limited. Therefore, only one conclusion can be drawn. Tolkien time travelled.

How do you know? Have you ever actually seen one? We only have doctors and science books words on that.

I boil 'em. That way all the delicious juices stay in the water and make an amazing broth.

As to skeletons rising from the grave and attacking people... only Bruce Campbell knows the answer for sure. ;)

heh heh heh.... well now, I have to admit this is a bit funny... a part of me wishes that there were indeed such beasties, and I think I may know a few people who could pass as orcs (or at least goblins), but no, I can't say I do believe any of these creatures were really much more than a sweet imagination.
