Hey all,

I ran across this business, Castle Magic Castle Builders, where they actually build castles for people to live in. It's obvious these guys really love what they do, and the photo gallery of their finished creations are really inspiring. I wonder if they grew up with LEGO?

Nice find! Looks like they make a fine product, if only I had the money for one...

Maybe someone will buy some old Megabloks Dragons for $100,000.

Yes I used to collect those.

Some day Bruce.... some day. I found this site likely a decade ago and think it is a neat concept. I would like to just make a simple castle with a smallish keep/manor and encircling wall with a gate and tower or two.

Few people are probably aware that in Lebanon a guy built a castle for himself with his own bare hands. The castle is called Moussa castle from the name of its builder. Yes, it was a 50 year project, but the result is impressive too.

Nice site you got there!

Plans for a castle near Almere (the Netherlands) never came further than this:

They started building in 2002, but it was left unfinished since 2002, I believe due to financial problems. Nowaydays the ruin a touristic attraction :sly:

Funny thing is the castle's site (province of Flevoland) was only reclaimed from the IJsselmeer lake in 1968. In the medieval period most parts of what is now land was sea. So there was never a castle near this spot.

That would be such an awesome job! Really, think about it. Someone comes up to you and ask what your job is. You reply saying, "Oh, I build castles. Nothing to impressive really!" That's the job I want when I grow up. :D

I have always said that if I become mega rich I would build a castle and a walled town to surround it in a really random remote location in Ireland.

Hi Guys. There is a wonderfull medieval castle being constructed in Treigny , Burgundy ,France right now. Name of castle is Guedelon Castle. The team in charge is well funded and well organised It's the brain child of French business man Michel Guyot. They have a great website and the builders are using oeriod construction methods in building the site. It would look nice with a moat but the contact lady advised me : no moat will be added. It started in 1997 and is a 25 year project. Fifty five jobs were created and the site has 300,000 plus visits per year. Check it out. :)

Yes, Lil Curt. www.guedelon.fr/en/ is their official site.I checked out site on a google map. Large visitors car park is separated from the castle site and has pathway leading to the castle. Plenty of images exist for Guedelon, including design pics of the finished castle on the Web. It's an impressive project in all respects.
