Think Renaissance Faire but with better costumes and more food. :D

I just remembered about this today. A few years ago there were commericals for this Medieval Times place in NJ (I lived in NYC at the time). I think they are still around.

Good place to spend my B-day.

Food, Medieval Costumes, and Jousting... what more can a Castle fan ask for? Aside from a big Castle...

Oh and BTW, check out the 7 knights at the index page. Looks like KK2 with a Vladek in the middle.

Hey,

There's one of those in the Los Angeles area as well. They went there in the Jim Carrey movie Cable Guy.

I went to the one in Dallas, TX 2 years ago during spring break. It was an entertaining show(knights, princes, maidens, I think you know where this is going) with an awesome gift shop(mmm swords....)! And I think that the best thing about the place was the.... food!! :D The food was really delicious. I can't remember exactly but we had a great potato, delicous soup, fantastic chicken, and some ribs I beleive. i would really like to go back. -Pac

I went to the one in Orlando, and wasn't impressed. People were seated way up in the huge benches, very far from the actual stuff going on. King Henry's Feast was better, although it was bought and then wen't out of business. One plus was the Medieval Times had horses, which was pretty cool.

I've been to the one in Orlando twice and enjoyed myself both times. It helps to go on a busy night when there's a lot of cheering going on. They seat you in sections and each section cheers on one of the knights through a tournament (for various reasons and with various story plots that change over time). Incidently, my knight won on both occasions ;)

Overall I found it to be a great experience. Both the knights and horses (and a hawk!) have undergone significant training to put on the show they give, and the food was awesome. However, it's also very expensive... I certainly wouldn't go more than once a year or so. Half the fun is also buying stuff in the various shops and they take a picture of you and your date (assuming you have one :) ) on the way in and then stick your face on a knight and lady picture and try to sell it to you later. It's fairly well done, though.

So, to sum up a recommendation: awesome show, great food, take lots and lots of $$ if you go.

We went to the Excalibur in Vegas. The show was too short and the plot line was really silly, but other than that it was fun and the act was good.

I went to the one near Disneyland when I was a kid and to the one in Las Vegas as an adult. Not the greatest shows, but they had their moments.

I have been to the one at the Excalibur in Vegas with my best friend. At the time, a good friend of ours from college was a member of the cast. That night, he played the part of the prince. It was a great show and the meal was pretty decent (considering it is not really a resturaunt). Afterwards, we stuck around and got to see some of the swords and horses up close as well as talk to other actors.

Very enjoyable!

I went on March 23 and it was awesome! My knight, the yellow and red one, lost but his ally, the green knight, won. Overall the food was really good and the action in the arena even better.

I've been three times (Twice in Orlando, and once in Toronto). The costuming is a bit cheesy (looks like a bad 80s TV movie), but it can be fun. The food was ok, but this is really set up for youngins. A great place to take kids.
