What type of soldiers are you looking for? It depends on the theme you want. This will determine the prices. Newer soldiers, like Knight's Kingdom I or Fright Knights will be cheaper than older types such as Crusaders and Black Falcons.
Unfortunately, LEGO is not selling a minifig pack these days. However, if you like the new KK2 Knights, they all come in the board game which you can buy on www.lego.com You might also try www.ebay.com for figs, but they are usually expensive here. Another choice is www.bricklink.com Buying them at CC is a good way to go, as long as you can find people who want to decrease their own armies. Also, you should say about how much you are willing to pay per figure.
