Vladek Encounter for $6.50 at ShopKo

Post by rogue27 »

Shopko has all LEGO for 10% off right now. That brings the price of Vladek Encounter down from $8.99 to $8.09. That's a start.

Next, if you go to the counter at ShopKo and ask for a sales flyer, it will contain a coupon that gives you $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. If you spend exactly $50, that comes out to be 20% off. 20% off of $8.09 comes out to about $6.50. (a few pennies less actually)

Sounds like a great deal, right? Next, the trick is to spend $50 without going over by much. Here's how I did it:

4 Vladek Encounter x $8.09 = $32.36
1 Sirius Black's Escape x $17.99 = 17.99
Total $50.35
$10 coupon = $40.35

That made the Vladek Encounters $6.50 each, and the Sirius Black's Escape was only $14.40. Great deal!

Unfortunately, ShopKo is pretty much only in the Midwest United States, so most people on here will not be able to take advantage of this.

Epilogue:
On the way out of the store, I stopped by the jewelry counter and asked for a sales flyer. Picking up Citadel of Orlan for $36 sounds like a good idea. I just need to figure out what else I would want to buy that is $5.01 or more.

For those of you in Northeast Ohio, Buehler's Grocery Store has all LEGO 20% off as well. Until yesterday, all the K-mart stores in the area had Lego anywhere from 10-25% off (depending on the cost of the item). Unfortunately, they didn't have any of the larger sets, so I didn't go spring for them (I would have liked to have the Citadel of Orlan for 37 bucks, or the Castle of Morcia or Hogwart's Castle for 68 dollars).
