photo link format ???

Postby lisaastrup » Wed Aug 12, 2015 10:17 pm

I have read the faq, but I don't get it, sorry.

If I want to put a image on here via photo bucket, what format is the best to use,
they have 4 kinds, I get confused.

I would like the one who show the photo here and not only a link ??? Can I, and what is it called, the format ? :?

Wow. I've been playing around with this and Photobucket doesn't really make this easy for you. If you go to a picture on Photobucket, like this one, it looks like you have to first click on the little magnifying glass icon, which takes you to this page. At this point, hover your mouse over the picture and use the right-click button (or control-click if you are a Mac user), and choose "Copy image URL". You can paste this, which gives you this:

http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq31 ... g~original

Then, to make the image show up in your forum post, you can click the little button that says Img above the white box where you are typing your post, and paste the image url in between the "img" and "/img" tags (alternatively you could just type [ i m g ]urlgoeshere[ / i m g ] (minus the spaces). In your post you'll see the following:

One further wrinkle is that there is a size limit for images in our forum: 500 pixels wide by 400 pixels high. I don't see an option in PhotoBucket to automatically re-size images, so you'll probably have to do that before uploading things to PhotoBucket.

BTW, you should consider using Flickr, Brickshelf, or MOCpages for your LEGO images. You'll find that most LEGO builders use one of those as it is easier to link pictures. They are all free - I won't go into detail here about all of the arguments people give for one of these versus the others.
