I've never used photobucket, but I do use Flickr and from what I've seen it's far superior.
Flickr does have some limitations on a free account, but unless you have huge volumes of pictures it does fine, and hundreds of AFOL's use it. Flickr does more than just host photos like other sites: It's partly a community site, too.

FLICKR is a great site for hosting your photos.
The nice thing about FLICKR is that you can leave comments and make notes.

Brickshelf serves it's purpose (and granted, its the only photo-hosting site I can access at work), but to be cliche', "once bitten twice shy." I don't trust it anymore.
That said, I prefer Flickr, and have for quite sometime.

The one main thing i was worried about was linking my photos... i forget which site it was, but every time some one sends you a link of their vacation photos the web site asks you to sign up to view it... and i totally hate that... i also thought Flicker did that, but i may be wrong!
I just want a site to place a 100 or so pictures that everyone and anyone can access!
Thanks

With both Brickshelf and Flickr you can publish links to photos or put the photo directly in forum posts and noone has to sign up.
I do think that with Flickr there is an option to make images only available to a select group, but I've never played with those options.

You can do that (public, friends, and family), but it something IS set private, you can also send e-mail invitations to others who are not registered with flickr and who are not contacts, to give them permission to view the gallery.
