Brikwars Painting: Black Falcon Warlord

Post by Fry_slayer »

A first trail. A tribute to the game, a custom fig concept and a spawn art from RayHawk a.k.a Brikwars/LEGO illustration Grand Daddy.

That is very cool. I like seeing your flags in the background.

Totally awesome. I love the dragon-esque falcon plume, great concept.

Beautiful work. Can you show us how you came up with the design. I would love to make this into a minifig if you'll allow me.

Fantastic. The lens flare is an excellent touch. What program do you use?

Black Falcon Warlord is a custom fig concept which i have been toying for a long time but could not materialize it due to lacking of certain stuff/skill. The helm is heavily influenced by Blasterman's work and basically I just throw in all the good stuff.
I love the dragon-esque falcon plume, great concept.
Thanks, I did actually try to create the plume in real life but was out of means after several trails.
I would love to make this into a minifig if you'll allow me.
By all means if you can really do it please do so :) , just mail me some of the BF plumes if you got it done
What program do you use?
Hand drawn

Scanned into photoshop, some elements added with Illustrator.
Total number of layers = 36 (unlike Mike which goes to 100++, I am far off)

Things I learned along the way:
1) Do the line art as neat as possible, that will save alot of hassle later
2) Take breaks, some stuff aren't meant to be done in a go.
1) Mike is uber, worship him

Ouch. Have you thought of inking, then erasing the pencil for a cleaner look? It'd probably clean up easier too.

I still like it!

Nice one Fry! I think that parts that I like the most are the armor and the plume(some surprise huh...). The shine(or should I say sheen) on him looks really nice. All of the skulls are really cool and the helmet is just amazing. At first, I thought it was Rayhawk's that you just posted for him...

Excellent picture. A lot of skill, as well as feeling, was obviously put into this.

This looks great Fry, did you make the BW Card for it as well? If so, can we see? :D :D

Great job! My only complaint is his left arm and sword don't look quite right compared to the rest of the person. But in an overall sense, it looks amazing. Love the plume. Great job.

That card looks as if you read my mind.... My sigfig(still a WIP, but almost done-just needs one decal) uses a modified LA flamberge and a Brickforge knight shield. Thank you good sir, this is just what I've been needing. This and a Brikwars opponent  .
