Armor Shop was released in 1986 and has four alternate models. These four alternates are different Armor Shops with features such as allures, weapon racks, and a horse stall. Each shop is modular and can be connected to a larger castle.

Each one of these alternate models shows a lot of quality, and any of them could have been the main set. Great pieces. My favourite would have to be the one at the bottom left hand corner, with the horse eating next to the display.
I liked this as a set, and the alterante models look nice. I like the bottem left hand one and the top right-hand one. All of these are great. They are good looking and they look like they could be played with nicely.
Thanks,

I love this set, see this is something logical from medieval times. Now you'll only find some sort of war cart/carriage, a tower set, and a castle. Nothing creative.
Talk about accessory pack! This set is great for all the rare/unique parts. The alternate models look really good as well (which is what happens when you include BRICKS in a set instead of BURPS and LURPS and other such monstrosities.
Hmm, it makes me wonder why lego can't make any good alterative sets anymore, and yes it was from the good ole days... It is beautiful... All of them are interesting, a restraunt, and a outpost, even a armory, and even a stable...
I am leniet to all lego sets especially alternatives... Gooday to all.
I think the interesting thing is the way the top and bottom models have been designed to fit into the classic castle technic stud system. I think they're the right height as well. You can buy three of these and add to your walls.
What I think is cool is the fact that they all look like they could be the main model, which shows a lot of creativity on the part of the Lego Designers.

I can see a few of these lining the streets of my village, and even though they all seem to be selling weapons. They definitely do not look like they are made from the same set. These alternative models would be some of better alternatives that I have seen.

Thanks for posting them.
You are welcome. They were fun and challenging builds. The two models on the left were particularly difficult to see on the box. My favorite alternate is in the bottom left corner. It looks like it could be a set.
I love this set as the set and the parts count is substantial enough to provide some great alternates. Both the bottom pictures are ones I would definately consider building. They both look like small sets to me and would be neat to try and implement in some form or another.
The top two...not as much, but still they provide some good starting points from which to develop other ideas.
I know it's oversaid, but I have to say it here. I long for the days when there were great ideas on the back of boxes to inspire further building, and sets with generic enough parts to provide for the decent alternates. It looks like there might be a marked improvement soon...
These are great! this set is obviously very versitile. plus it has a black sword! all the alts get 8.5 out of 10 or better.
He who thinks you should look at the box that says "Quaraga" if you want to find out his username (about as useful to you as his real name). he only wants you to look so he can laugh about you looking there because he's a total smart...
