The reason I like this set is because it brings back memories. This was my first Castle set! The actual set isn't that great, but I do like the figure, and the sword and barrel are nice too. Overall I'd say about a 7.5/10 :|

It's okay. It gives a good weapons selection, but the catapult itself is not amazing. I do like the greatsword that the guy's carrying. I think I had one, and then lost it somewhere. :(

Unlike a lot of posters here, I think this is a great set. The one-piece catapult arm may not be great for anything else, but it works really well -as- a catapult arm, and in my opinion looks better than the brick-built ones. BURPS aren't so bad when used sparingly.

Further, I strongly feel this is TLG's best catapult. Solid wheels, a low-sitting design, chunky enough to be believable, etc. Just overall a great design, and much better than older designs that preceeded it.
Forge not works of art but swords of death, for therein lies great art.

Hmm, definaely NOT my favorite set ever. I do really like the torso, and an extra barrel is always good, but as far as the set design and piece inventory go this is not a winner in my book.

I don't like the design, but it has great pieces. The big wheels, and the minifig are great.

im gessing a 4.5 Because of the horrible design but it is saved by the fig and weapons.

I like the colection of weapons, and think the remaining parts could be well used for other things - ox carts, ice cream factories, ....

It could use at least one more fig with it.

I would never have bought this just for the payability factor, but my son and his friends like this one.

If it was ever re-released, I would only buy it if it was a very low price, and then primarily as MOC fodder.

I am sure I have seen some deals on these at the used catapult lot down the road ...

Cheers,
Bert.

Eh. Eh. Ok set. Ok torso. It's ok.
Not really else to say. The torso looks good for a villager, and the barrel is always nice, but these sets just didn't work for me. KKI just wasn't my thing.

I have this set but the only reason i got it was cause i got it cheap otherwise i might not of got it at all. The minifig is not too bad but i think the assortment of weapons is the only thing making this set worth while.
I think the set design was really bad and nowhere near as good as 6030 which was 1 of the first sets i ever got back in '85. This set definitly needed another minifig to make it a decent set

I by chance have this set and dislike it. Sure It's got some useful pieces and sure it has a varity of weapons, but thats it. I mean the wheels have eqaul mass to the catapault. Come on "Lego" spend a few more bucks and ad more pieces onto it.

Is it just me or has Lego developed an obsession with catapults as time has gone on? Unfortunately, as quantity has increased, quality has decreased.
