I think your choice of words may have been unfortunate.
You said it was "not worth it" which is different than saying "I am not willing to pay that much for it".
Saying something is "not worth it" is a criticism of the value of the goods in the open market and also can be seen as a criticism of the seller for inflating the pice.
What SavaTheAggie pointed out was that in fact the open market would value the goods at quite a bit more than what was bid. So your statement is factually incorrect.
But what you meant to say is still true, it's too expensive for you (and me ) but it is worth whatever someone will pay. I got outbid just north of $500.

I guess they could have been a little misunderstanding.
It is not too expensive for me. I could afford. (Not to brag or anything)
I am saying I don't think it is worth THAT much.
But Anyway, I hope I did not offend anyone, I did mean to be cynical.

well i guess as far as i see things.....each one of the large pirate ships go for over $100 each on a regular basis on ebay. so that's $200 just for those two ships. i'm selling a heck of a lot more than that.
It's ebay-auction, bidders will decide what's worth what and how much. You're gona get a pretty penny for your collection. It's certainly worth more then it's current bid, and it will go higher.
Advice-because you can if you will. Cancel the auction, split it by subject or sets. You'll do much better, unless time is an issue.
It won't be fair to the current bidders, but a lot of thoes sets are in high demand, and a lot of the other's.. not so much...that will defer some bidders.

no problem. just like with Canada, i would be happy to ship international. i just didn't have a baseline for shipping costs out of the USA when i started the auction. i can look into it and we can figure out the shipping. really it's all the same to me. whatever works for you guys.
so i had two reasons why i made one auction with everything....
1)for simplicity's sake...if it doesn't work this way the first go-round, i'll split them up
2)i had all those extra pieces, partial sets, minifigs, and accessories. it was just easier to throw all that stuff in basically as a bonus to the winning bidder. selling that stuff separately would yield beans in an auction, so why not just throw it all in with everything else.
I have a credit card witha $2k limit. Don't tempt me like this.
Agreeing with others who said it, you should have broken this down into several smaller auctions. I see $600 on this, no reserve, and 30 hrs remaining. The fleet of ships alone could probably net you that much as their own auction.
well, the auction ended without reaching the reserve. so you guys will get your wish. i will go ahead and relist them split up into their categories. i won't sell each set individually, but all of those from a genre in one group auction; i.e., all the castle stuff in one auction, all the pirate stuff in one, all the generic stuff in one, all the technic and model team in one, and i guess i'll even do one last one for the left over extra pieces. i'll let you know when the are up and ready to go.

PI, if you are saying that the price is too high, then as Tony said (albiet pointedly) you are incorrect. For the lot, the price at $375 was a complete steal. However;
If you were saying that it was too expensive for you, then I agree with you, it was too much for me too. A Cadillac at $10,000 off, but still costing $50,000 is not a good deal, for me. But I can't see paying that much for any car, takes too much money away from brick!
I'm glad they are being broken up. I think you stand to make more money. I might bid on the pirate and castle, but the rest is undesirable to me. I might be able to afford a smaller, yet more desirable lot.

update:
the sets should be going up for auction again in the next day or two. i will be splitting them up in 5 different auctions....Castle, Pirate, Generic, Model Team/Technic, and one that will contain all the extra pieces, minifigs, and partial sets (Paradisa).
i originally was trying to sell every single last lego i had all in one auction before, so i figured if there was a piece missing from a set while i was building it, it would have been in the leftover piles of extra pieces i had. now that i am splitting them up and the winner will not necessarily get all the extra pieces, i have been rebuilding the sets to take an accurate inventory of all sets. i have made notes of any and all pieces missing from each set. in the process, i found 4 additional Castle sets that i had extra pieces and instructions for. so far, almost everything is 100% complete.
anywho, i'll be sure to let you guys know when the auctions have been created. i figure i'll do a reserve, but will possibly do a "buy it now" for the antsy folks.....still trying to decide what those prices should be. i know i'll ask more for the castle and pirate sets. anyone have any ideas on those, feel free to PM me.
