Worst jobs in history?

Post by Murgen »

Has anyone else out there seen the show "Worst jobs in History?"

I found it on the History Channel International, I think. I also think it was a BBC 4 program.

It was a series, looking at the worst jobs in certain time periods. Very funny.

Of course, if I have time, I might make a few vig's of them...

yeah, the guy who played Baldrick in Blackadder did it, I've got his book.

I actually have a good idea, we could do it as a group project... :D

First thing that came to my mind was Mell Brooks's movie "History of the World. Part I". There was a guy with a bucket whose position was ...., well ... "piss boy". I guess you get it right.

The second thing - Black Adder's Baldrick.

Yes, Groom of the Stool was listed as a worst job. Essentially the job entials making sure the soverign was clean and tidy after sitting on his / her "throne".

leech collector
wattle and daub applier (aka feces and straw on the wall...)
purple maker (aka smash the crustacean and stew the innards...)
under-sawyer
violin string maker
salt-peter collector (aka Pis* boy)

the possibilities are endless....

Oh yeah. I love the leech collector. I think that he will be made into a Lego minifig for my town.

Thanks for sharing.

He was on "Time Team" a neat show from Britain that showed here in the US on History International.

"Vig-ing" this ourselves would be a cool idea.
