Everyone has been saying that, though I don't know where that idea came from...?
The wizard does, however, appear to have a new starry torso...

look at this:
In the meantime we are launching some small impulse purchase items which include one minifigure plus accessories (as you have already heard from Eurobricks), one of them at least should help with your Army building… as he is a soldier with a new torso and accessories

Ah, I must have missed that. I'd noticed everyone saying that, but didn't know why... I imagine he was mistaken and meant the wizard.

Oh-mih-guh. I. MUST. Get some. One wizard, ~5/10 knights. PLAIN ARMOR?! YES!!

As far as I can tell, the wizard is sand blue, not light grey. Still nice though. And I'm hoping that the stars aren't printed on him, but they don't seem to be just effects (As they look different from those near the wand-tip).

P.S. Okay, sorry about that. They're just sooo... perfect.

Edit: And I forgot to mention that I actually prefer the grill helm over the swing-visor; as the latter, IMO, is way too big.

I know these are called "Impulse" sets, but maybe they should be called "Addiction" sets :P . The knight is the best looking little set I've ever seen. All those pieces are great. I think the wizard is sand blue also, but what if the stars were a glow-in-the-dark print. I'm not saying they are, but it'd be neat. I don't see why everyone is going with 5 to 1 ratio for the knights. You would have to buy the same number so you could use the wizard torso and legs for pajamas :P

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the stars are printed. I'll probably get some wizards for the beards! I might also get the policeman bellow the knight for the dog... Notice the wizard's head is Danju from KK2, odd.

Yeah... at first I thought that those white stars were special effects that were digitally added to the picture, but every time I look at it, it looks more and more like they really are printed on. It could be worse though.

My major concern about these sets is their availability. How many of us have a Jayko or Vladek set? I don't think those were ever sold in retail stores; at least not in the USA. There was that KKII Catapult set that was available in Wal-Marts. I bought all 10 of that set that they had, and then I never saw it in a store again.

I hate to be so pessimistic, but on the other hand I really hope that I'm wrong!

Wow, 10 of 10 for the new Lego Castle! This truly is a new mile marker for the genre. The man at arms set is possibly the best small Castle set ever - golden age or not ... this in my opinion is an amazing army builder set. Those brown pieces come in handy too.
And I really like the idea of a magician in sand blue/light gray whatever. I hope that the stars are just photoshopped effects, but we do have to remember these are toys. I could use that owl as I don't have any Harry Potter sets.

I will agree with whoever said that they are worried about the availability of these sets. This is great, they noticed that we liked army builders with lots of accessories and they delivered. Now I just have to get my hands on a good many of these haha. Crown Knights keep moving up my list of favorite factions, right below Black Falcons and above Crusaders and Black Knights. I'm thinking on allying my Crown Knights with my Black Falcons.

Looks good. Reminds me of when Majisto came out the first time... sigh, memories (but I'm not overly fond of the stars all over him)

They both look great, but I agree with those who said they don't like the stars on the wizard. It ruins a perfectly good wizard hat. =(

At any rate, the soldier is what I'll be getting most of i've I can get my hands on any of them! I sure hope they're readily available.

Do you think that the printing to the wizard hat and legs is the raeson for the possibly reduced element count for the wizard?
It appears that set 5616 the knight contains 20 pieces and the wizard 5614; 16 pieces
If the knight is to have a unique torso design, just removing the crown as in the euro amour would be good enough for me.

I like my army builder sets not to have a predetermined faction but to be truly generic.

That was one of the advantages of scale and plate amour previously without badges; lots of fractions were able to use the same torso design.

Saves on production costs also look at how the viking designs are still getting a run in the leaked images.

I, for one, am digging the police set with the dog. Cheap LEGO dogs = WIN.

Castle sets rule, of course. I like the wizard, he's like Majisto re-imagined.

EDIT: And I've been waiting for that round table piece for a long time. I want it in brown!

I wonder if it will fit on the big barrell pieces from the wild west line. They never made a good lid for that piece. Though since the lid would be new brown and the barrell old brown, it wouldn't me much use... Stupid, stupid, stupid color change...

Check it out, looks like the sets will be in a large box set up in stores. Although I do hope they'll still be available at S@H.

Plus, you get a new shot of with wizard... Printing now looks much better. 8)

I hope WAL*MART will have some sense and put it at least near the LEGO isle. I reall don't want to have to scower the whole store.
