Dwarf sets?
I'm new to LEGOs and of course since Dwarves seem to be the coolest thing ever in the LEGO world - I wanna collect them. But right now you can only get them in the Dwarves Mine and Mine Defender. So I'm sure as you guys know to build an army of Dwarves it can be quite pricey.
I wanna collect Dwarves but not if these are the only two sets you can get them in (the Warship is too expensive for one dwarf). To sum up this long post - are any other Dwarf sets being released soon?
Thanks,
Tyler

What you've seen here is all we know.
Though a [easy to find] listing of all the currently known upcoming and/or available sets would be nice.

There are no other new Dwarf sets coming out soon, to my knowledge.. Which I am not exactly sure if that's saying alot or what, but I haven't heard anything of them if so (Only the Giant Chess set, which will include some Dwarves.. But that's a bit of a wooden steak to the heart of your wallet.).
One option is to my a bunch of the Defenders, and sell off the Goblin on either eBay or Bricklink. You could get Dwarves at rock-bottom prices that way. Just would take a little extra work selling them is all.

AS far as I know these are the sets with dwarves:
Castle Chess 2008- 8 dwarves
Dwarf Mine- 4 dwarves
Dwarf Mine Defender- 1 dwarf
Troll Warship- 1 dwarf
Advent Calendar- 1 dwarf
The Dwarf defender and warship dwarves are about the same except the helmet. The mine and chess set have the most variation of dwarf, torsos, beards, helmets etc. What I have been doing to make my dwarf army is get a number of the defenders as Amanda said. It is cheaper and a decent way to get an orc and dwarf army. I then mix them up some. I think the beards are nice enough but like variation so I remove them and place bearded faces on them with other helmets.
Good luck. I hope 2009 is different for dwarves but so far looks doubtful. I have not seen any info on the 2009 line except the possible intro of elves by a map from the Lego magazine....

I'm not a big fan of Dwarves - suppose it's how you set up your Legoverse. In mine, a small faction of Dwarves 'build things' for the humans in return for protection from the skellies/trolls/orcs. I'm on Amanda's page too; orc prices could get your Dwarf army really started.

I really really really like the Dwarves. I think they're unique and amassing an army of them would be fun but I'm not sure if its affordable for me right now.
The Crownie sets are much easier to find and in abundance whereas the Mine and Defender you can pretty much only get at TRU and are pricey. The Defender would be much nicer if it came with two Dwarves and a bit more gear for them.
I'm going to run the prices by the misses first because I always like to include her in when my hobbies become expensive.
Thanks for the help.

Hail, Tyler the Dwarf King!
Has your majesty tried BrickLink? You can pick up the dwarves for about $5 to $6 each plus shipping. Still expensive but not nearly as bad as having to buy entire sets to get them.
Hope that helps.

At first my father and I used some 1x1 round pieces for legs.they were small and in o amny sets. Now they make darves we are so happy!!! Of course we made the Fellowship before the Dwarf sets came out so Gimili had 1x1 round pieces for legs. Hey he still looked cool! so you can make you r own dwarves if you like or you can get them in a set.
If only I had more Lego. But more is never enough!!!
