New forum member/LEGO Castle addict saying hi

Post by KingDavid »

Hopefully I'm not posting this in the wrong section. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi. I've been trying to register on here for a week and every time I tried, my e-mail addresses kept being banned for some strange reason. Obviously, I finally succeeded. :)

I used to play with LEGO castle-themed sets when I was a kid, which was a couple decades ago. I've seen a number of them in stores over the years, but on Black Friday I saw that Wal-Mart had the #7094 King's Castle Siege set marked down to $50. So I snatched it up. So now I'm hooked again. I'm placing an order at the online LEGO Shop today to get these sets as well:

#5615 The Knight
#5618 Troll Warrior
#7009 The Final Joust
#7036 Dwarves' Mine
#7037 Tower Raid
#7038 Troll Assault Wagon
#7040 Dwarves’ Mine Defender
#7041 Troll Battle Wheel
#7048 Troll Warship
#7090 Crossbow Attack
#7091 Knights' Catapult Defense
#7092 Skeletons' Prison Carriage
#7093 Skeleton Tower
#852271 Knights Battle Pack
#852272 Skeletons Battle Pack

LEGO sure is sneaky. I could have probably been satisfied for the moment without getting ALL those sets, but they couldn't leave the fight between the knights and the skeletons separate from the one between the trolls and the dwarves. Now I'll have to go and buy the #852293 LEGO Castle Giant Chess Set, too. Anyway, I know I'm going to be missing these sets as well, for the moment:

#5614 The Good Wizard
#7029 Skeleton Ship Attack
#7979 LEGO Castle Advent Calendar

Is that it for the Castle theme sets? I mean, just the Castle sets. I don't want to go and get myself jonesing over some Knight's Kingdom stuff just yet. Anyway, thanks so much and kudos for the great forum! :D

This isn't the right place, but that is OK in the big scheme of things (as far as I am concerned) :D

Welcome here!

You are coming back to Castle LEGO at a VERY GOOD time. So much awesomeness in the sets from the last 2 years, and even more interesting stuff coming up in 2009.

Get familiar with BrickLink and get yourself a copy of 7979 Castle Advent Calender that was not officially released in North America. Alternatively you could post a want add in the BST forum and maybe someone in the US would have one for you.

Hey,

I'm going to shift this over to "announcements", which is more the place for introductions and similar topics. Welcome to CC! Sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun opening packages soon.

I like your name!

Welcome to CC! Looks like you have a heap of castle parts coming your way, but as with every builder who gets more parts, the same words are always said:

"I wish I ordered more!"

Again, welcome to this great forum. Hope you like it as much as I do here!

Gotcha. I was just sort of testing the waters, as it's wise to do with all new forums you join. Thanks for the link for BrickLink there, Troy. I figured there was a database of all the LEGO Castle sets somewhere. Apparently it has been found. Yeah, I do really want a Castle Advent Calender. I won't be able to open it as recommended, but at least I'll have a lot of nice detail parts. I can get one off of Amazon.com for a little over $60 shipped, which seems slightly cheaper than what they're going for on eBay right now. Anyway, I just have a quick question - has anyone read the Jan/Feb 2009 LEGO Club Magazine and decided to enter into that Castle Ship Building Challenge? Or is it more ethical to let the kids have that one to themselves? Just curious as to what you guys might think. Thanks for the welcome. :)
