Just a quick reminder to those who are planning to combine the skeleton ship with the troll ship: please note that the hull pieces are a different colour! Black for the skellies, dark brown for the trolls... and reddish brown for the vikings' 2007 ship, BTW.

I was recently browsing the Pirates subforum at Eurobricks, and there is a thread about future pirate sets suggestions, and the idea of a ghost ship came up multiple times. I couldn't help thinking of this ship... it's pretty much a ghost pirate ship already. Shucks, the skeletons are even after the treasure (according to the box art anyway). I don't think there is much that is uniquely castle about it, so one could easily transplant it for use as a pirate ship if so desired. Just give the skeletons more modern weapons and they'd be good to go. I guess the only thing that might be off is the hull shape, which doesn't really match the typical pirate ship. Older ship building style perhaps (historically speaking)?

Anyway, I like the idea that Lego made a pirate set for the castle theme. It makes me wonder if there are any other sets that sort of cross or combine themes like this.

Not bad, for a recent set. Got to love how these guys store their treasure right at the water's edge where anyone can sail by and pick it up though. :)

Regret. Regret, regret, regret....just one more reminder that if you're interested in a set, buy sooner than later! GONE are the days where you can actually strike a deal online after a series peters out. I like the look of this set quite a bit, but obviously, I do not own it. Initially felt like it was too much of a retread idea of similar set from the KKII/Jelly Bean era. But alas, that's not so bad...

I also missed out on this one, due to the fact that I was getting married and the majority of my budget at the time was going towards wedding stuff. It was also the only regular set from the fantasy line that I didn't get and I was sad that it was only on the shelves for a relatively short time. While the boat is a little goofy looking, I loved the dock/port design, especially since it looks like there was a little room for the soldiers to hang out and there was some depth to the set. Perhaps someday I'll pick it up, but I just can't justify spending +$200 for something like this when there are so many other great sets out and coming out.
