This all makes my army seem small.. but here goes my lot
I'm using the Australian names for the classics..

Good guys
I have about 24 black dragons
18 Eagle crest
12 Lion crest
5 Robin hood's men
5 Green dragons
2 dwarves... but i want more
and about 13 Lion knights and the blue/grey guys that we have now..
a green dragon
and 10 castle folk.. peasants, 2 blacksmiths 1 queen, a maiden and a wizard
I prefer the classic factions.

[I dont remember these guys names..or choose not to... honestly who has a leader called Cedric??]
Versus
3 Bulls
5 Bat + 2 witches.
14 trolls.. and 2 big trolls
6 skeleton warriors
and a red dragon [one of the few figures bought single without the set]

i get my figures through sets [mainly] and most of mine were bought in the 80s .. on and off during the 90s and occasionally during the 00's.

mine have to be the knights from fantasy era (don't know what theyre called) about 20 ppl + the king and princess and these

i also of course have an :orc: army with 4 giant trolls, and about 15 of the small ones
I'm bad at skeletons and dwarves. about 5+ of each

i wish it was any castle armies was like the battle droids, A LOT for not too high price.
i hate that the battle packs isn't at sale here home in Norway
its much more expensive for me then to buy on net, but time will show, im still young
Look! it's a troll, it's a funny troll! ---> :orc:

Remember, it's not the size of the army, but how you use it! :)
"Numbers do not win the battle" :)
from Narnia :)))

I've bouth from net 100 and more red helmets (clasic one, nose and neck protector) from Avatar, 100 purple clasic armor (with leg protectors) and all kind of weapons, shealds and arrov quivers, and 100+ mor other type of helmets

and I took my police oficers, firemans, spacemen, aqua, blacktron, Mtron, clasic castle and all of the rest figurines and I made a giganctic army of good soldiers :) all-united :)

then I bought 100 + black heads (no patern, just plain black), and 100 Vladek soldiers helmets, and I made Drow army

and there you are, 200+ good no name soldiers and 100 no name Drow (with all suport creatures:))

Wow! There certainly are some large armies amassed out there. Personally I can't envision owning more than what I would need to populate a good MOC. I just don't see the point. I'd rather put my money towards bricks to build more MOCs! I have no idea what my biggest faction is. I'm guessing probably either Crusader/Lion knights, or Forestmen. I probably have somewhere around 30 of each of those. I'm building custom shogun/ninja and saracen factions right now.

and herein lies the best part of lego. You have fun your way, we'll have fun ours, and sit around at work talking about it. Thats what makes it great.

:D

Y'know, I recall once counting over 120 skeletons in this 2000 + army. :spin:

The size of the army here is large, but there are multiple factions and various custom figs, so it looks like a multi-year army-builder that has a colection which matured over age and was massed into one whole formation.

I'm at a little over 1200 crownies (I know . . . I'm addicted :D ). My ultimate goal was to pit them against the roughly 1000 Viking/Shadow knight army, but I haven't had the time so I went the easy route and just set up all the crownies (with some dwarfs mixed in) in and around my most recent castle (Vidar).

I'm liking the amount of clean, crisp, and new looking Forestmen you've got there!

I do hope for a day when Forestmen return, or at least their beautiful hats...still awaiting an Elf faction to arrive in the Castle world! :roflol:

...one day maybe!

Hey Jaydawg, Ginormous crownie army. :twitch: I like how you displayed them on the castle. I also like the smattering of brickforge elements to seperate out some leaders/hero types.

I would like it even better to see them all spread out into units and formations. I know that it would be a several day job to do so. Lots of figs to pose. In particular I wish I could see some "close up" pics of the golden unit inside the castle.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Griffin, I agree you have some high quality classic figures there. I love your small units.

I'm sorry for the late respons, it has been a bit hectic lately :D, but thanks for the comments i'm very pleased with my armies as wel. Nowadays most you see is Crownies, i like to be a bit different :D.

They all are clean, crisp, and new looking :D The reason for that is that they (the Classic figs) have been hiding in a box on the attic for about 15 years :D and have only recently come out of there.
The "red" Black knights have been turned into Crusader archers (with new helmets witch i had ordered from LEGO) and the "blue" Black knights that i own have been joining forces with the Black Falcons :D, also as archers.
