Toys 'R' Us Sale!

Post by RotsiserMho »

For those that aren't aware, twice a year, Toys 'R' Us (TRU) has a buy 2, get 1 free sale and it's going on now! I, for one, wait just for these sales to get my goods. :)

Great offer, and there's lots of choice on what to get. In the end I opted for three Drawbridge Defences. :)

Thanks again.

I don't like this sale. I always wind up with two sets I want and can never pick a 3rd.

But at any rate, I'm not going to be anywhere near a TRU for months...

This is exactly what I do and it works out to be a great way to help fund an otherwise expensive hobby.

It definitely excludes Star Wars at my local store (also learned the hard way), but on the website, I have in my cart three of set 8038 (Battle Of Endor) and it shows the third one as free. Maybe it's a glitch on their site? I got nearly all the way through the checkout process and would have continued if I had the cash, but I spent it all today! So it looks like it'll work on the web.

Can anyone confirm whether this sale has or has yet to start in Canada?

Hmm... how do you know they do it twice a year? Do you know when the are usually scheduled, or is it random? The last TRU Lego sale I was lucky enough to run into was back in March (I think) and it was a "buy one, get 2nd one half price" or something like that.

Yea, works out to around 30% off either way which brings the 10 dollar sets they jack up to 15 bucks back down to msrp which you can get any day at other retailers.

They jack the freakin impulse sets up to 7 bucks.

Its a good deal if you get some of the high dollar sets and have some addiional rewards coupons to throw at the sale.

This has definitely turned into a sale you need to research. You can still get some really good deals with non-licensed themes but watch out for Indiana Jones. Some of these sets will only net you around a 10% savings overall from LEGO pricing. There should be better sales coming for those items.

I picked up some of the smaller sets myself, mainly for the minifigs and my savings came out to be around 23% per box using LEGO pricing as a base.

Do your research.
