I have a question. Some of my minifigure legs don't stick to studs anymore, most aren't that old either, and I was wondering why. Also, what is the weird Y-shaped thing inside of hollow minifig head studs and some bricks. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I just wanted to know out of curiosity

I read somewhere that the holes atop a minifig's head were made so that when a kid puts it in his mouth, he won't choke because there would be air coming through the minifig head. On a more practical note, these heads have a great advantage over the older ones (with the stud on top): you can put a weapon/tool on a minifig's head. I don't know why would you do that, but it's still better than not being able to do that, is it not?

When the box says 7-14, but then says in the corner "WARNING: Small parts. Not for children under 3" it makes no sense. Why would someone buy their 3 year-old a LEGO Castle set? My nephew is 3, and he would never be able to play with it.

I got my first normal LEGO set when I was three. Though, I suppose with some kids, that wouldn't be a good idea.

The Viking horn/tooth element fits in the hole. It's odd for the Yellow races, but fits the Trolls, aliens and creatures quite well. Try it with that cyclops alien from the 2009 Space Police line.

I very nearly take offense to this comment and brother, it is pretty hard to offend me. I decided to just be annoyed buy what you wrote instead. As a parent of a four and a three year old boy who have played with my lego since they could manipulate it and have had their own lego since their first Christmas I'd like to stand up and say it's not the responsible parents that those warnings are for. They aren't even about telling people that "if you give this toy to a toddler, they will choke and die." Those warnings are a way for a company to cover their liability from the d-bags out there who know full well that young children need supervision when doing certain things. There are people out there that would let their children play with something that is a choking hazard and then sue said company when their child chokes. They aren't surprised when it happens and are just taking advantage but at least said company has put a label on their product that basically says, "uh, we told you so."

Yes, in a way you are correct in that some people could be acting irresponsibly by giving a child something to play with that they are either physically/emotionally not ready to play with or require supervision when they have it. What I take exception to is being labeled under the same umbrella as your so-called, idiots.

I didn't mean anything negative by what I said above, I just meant that it's better to buy Duplo then risk your 3 year-old getting injured. I also think that little kids would just destroy the bricks and make buying them the set a waste. I know my nephew would break the rowboat oars in Castle and Pirate sets in the blink of an eye. Yes, he is extremely intelligent, but Duplo is by far better for him.

Right, the use of the word 'idiot' to describe a person or group of people is inherently positive. Kids play and they play hard. Stuff gets wrecked. It is a parents responsibility to understand what their own child can and cannot play with. Each case is different, for example, my kids are the children of an afol so they have been taught from day one not to use their teeth or not to break/bend things etc. Nor do my kids have free reign with their (or mine) lego so when it's time to play, they play with me or under my close supervision mostly because they need help and oddly enough, we like to play together. A lot of toddlers have an oral fixation and it's up to the parents to recognise this and act accordingly by not letting them play with something that is or could be a choking hazard.
Case by case and painting an entire group of people with the same brush smacks of bigotry to me.

How exactly did you infer that? If I were 11 now, my 4th birthday would have been no earlier than in 2002, when the "System" logo had been long gone from the set boxes... Of course I'm not.

And what exactly does this have to do with the topic of this discussion?
