What's your favourite Castle helmet?

Post by Mörs »

Mine is definitely the one with the pointy visor. To put it shortly:
1. It protects the whole head of a knight.
2. You can attach three plumes to it.
3. You can open up the visor!
4. It just looks awesome, and kind of intimidating, too.

I use it for my Black Knight custom minifig.

I have a couple or three that I really love, but my favorites are:

1. Helmet with Chinstrap and Wide Brim' (527)
Image;

2. Helmet Cap with Angled Cheek Protection and Crest' (x1841)
Image;

3. I've asked for this since 1998 or so, European Great Helm
Image.

If I could trade a few horses from my kingdom for a new helm in the Castle line-up, #3 would be IT baby. :wave:

Hmm... I think my favorite is the Shadow Knight helmet, followed by the classic Flared helmet. They're both usable in high quantity (for soldiers), and look pretty good. Other things like the pointed visor I like too, but is a bit too specialized to be given to most troops.

Here's all the candidates I was considering-- Am I missing any? (I didn't include things like the peasant cowl, forestmen cap, etc-- just things that were more "helmets"):

Flare Helm: Image
Bullet Helm: Image
Grill Helm: Image
Pointed Visor: Image

That's hearsay. Possibly even discussion of a forbidden topic.

I'd like to stand up and say...the grilled helmet deserves some respect!

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.

Out of the above ones, I also like the grill helmet and the flare helmet (it just looks so classic and simple).

The jelly bean helmets are easily the worst...

The classic visor is surprisingly ugly, I must say! Maybe it's just that I'm used to the newer, pointy visor...

I also never really liked the kettle helmet; I know they are historically accurate, but their look just doesn't appeal to me, I guess.

Amen bruder (as in Ritterbruder :) )! The grill is my favorite too. My #2 is a tie between the kettle helm and the classic flayed helm, especially when they're dark gray. After that i like the pointy visor allot, but not more then the afore mentioned three. And what about the classic peseant hood!? Doesn't that count? The wolfpack wore it, but then they didn't do to well, but still, isn't the hood awsome!

I like the grilled helmet but I think even if they are unpopular I really like the black dragon helmet and to a slightly lesser extent (due to the color) the Jayko visor from KKII.

the bullet helm, less odds of the helm killing you, more visibility, safety. :D

Bullet might be my favorite, but Pointy Visor, Flared, Grill, and Shadow Knight are also good.

My least favorites are the Kettle, Batlord, KK2 Visors, an Dwarf. I don't like things that stick out on the sides.

I've found this one useful -- not truly "authentic," but the shape and ornamentation work for me:
