Tournament Tent
Since LEGO made cloth tent in Adventures set back in 1998.(first tent that I've bought) i was hoping for Castle tent to be relesed... Still we don't have a cloth tent.. I am pretty much a LEGO purist, but still don't like a brick-build tents..
First I've found a fabric that is very similar to fabric that LEGO used(before, when it was cotton based) to make sails and other cloth stuff
here is comparission
Here is a tent that I made..
dimensions:
base is 12x10 studs, hight 8 bricks(48LU)
I've tried my best to make a legoish tent as much as I could, design is a modification of official LEGO tent..
Hope you like it! I can make a longer review if anyone is interested

Re: Tournament Tent
I've used tehnology that airplane modelers sometimes use to print blueprints on balsa wood..Mirror print on plastic foil than press it on fabric and then heat..works well..colour stays on fabric permanently
but, tried just printing onto fabric and works well too..
it is not completely water resistant, but colour does not take off during play

Re: Tournament Tent
It's too professional looking. This looks like it should be a necessity in future Lego sets. I love some of the brick built ones I've seen in the past, but this looks like it would fit perfect in the castle theme. Awesome job.

Re: Tournament Tent
This is really, really lovely. It looks quite lego-ish to be sure. Do you have a template that you'd be willing to share?

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

@Kevin1990
Well I've sold a few pieces to my friends at club...I'm thinking about selling these(and other custom cloth stuff) via bricklink if someone is interested...I have four different colour shemes, but you can pm me and I can send you some additional informations and pictures, and also you can choose your own colour sheme if you want.
Thanks everyone!

Only in dxf/dwg but I will try to make a good template in some other user friendly programs/extensions as soon as I can!Ye Olde Republic wrote:Do you have a template that you'd be willing to share?

That's really great, I've wondered why LEGO never made something like this.

Re: Tournament Tent
These are really appealing to me and the price seems somewhat reasonable. At least for something that is hand made that is. Most of the brick-built tents I've seen are nice and the ones I've attempted have never really worked out the way I'd like but what looks more like a tent than an actual tent?

Re: Tournament Tent
That looks really great kost_u_grlu.
Considering how well my basic tents are selling, I might have to look at coming up with my own version of these

Re: Tournament Tent
Very nice. I wouldn't mind a few of these.
They could also be used for a Roman army as well.

These look great, what price are they listed at? I might get some in the future, does it come with the parts to be able to set it up?
