I got nothing.
Uhh... it comes with Rascus's platemail?
I've gotten to where I prefer the printed torso better...

Try... thinking outside of the blue box, the set passively amplifies the value of your classic sets.Lord_Of_The_LEGO wrote:I sat here for five minutes trying to come up with something positive to say about this set.

I can get it much cheaper in this set:

Along with a cauldron, black doors, four shields, two black cups and misc. bricks.

But this isn't enough to justify buying the set. I suppose that a young (6-10 year old) might buy this, since he has no other castle (being born after the other castles) and thinks it kinda cool. I mean, as much as we would like to think otherwise, this set wasn't designed with AFOL's or TFOL's in mind. From a kid's point of view this is an okay set. At least he'll think that until he learns about a better castle
guy. Well, I don't think it's "cool", but it'll deffinately boost my collection, but my parents won't let me buy over $80 lego sets cause mom thinks it's a waste. sigh. But you look at this set and thinkmight buy this, since he has no other castle (being born after the other castles) and thinks it kinda cool
Seriously, this castle has so many nooks and crannyies and just downright bad design, that peasants could take it down, and cut through the jelly beans plastic armor with wood.
Sir Prog wrote:I give COM high marks for not being "EVERY SINGLE CASTLE DESIGN" since. This was the last base plate design for some time, and while many are glad to be rid of it, I now have more non-base plate castles than base plate...so suffice to say, I think it's healthy to enjoy a blend of both. As for the KKII line, I have my theories as to why they are so hated by everyone (i.e., when I say theories, I literally mean I've done a theoretical analysis on the "why".).
Personally, I really enjoyed KKII b/c of the intricate story line that allowed or better yet invited collectors to play along. I'm not just talking about the cards that were included with sets. I'm talking about the 10-issue animated comic at the Lego website. It was an INCREDIBLE story with numerous tie-in games. This was a brand extension unlike any Lego had ever created for the Castle line. However, so few people actually viewed the comics that they had no idea how much each set played in the story line!? Anyway, because of the intricate story tie-in and cool base plate, as well as the new additions of colorful knights, more detailed than prior versions, I give the set a 8 out of 10 for guts, commodity branding, and creative color palette. Heck, these colorful knights banding together for the sake of overcoming the 'black' threat of death foreshadowed the Green Lantern color spectrum and mega-event Blackest Night (okay, a liberty for sure, but you can see the correlations!). : )
8/10, especially if you got it on sale
