Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
Man, I can't wait for these sets to come out. I already have a unit or rangers and am working on some auxiliary forces to man my two cannons.
Do we have any clear pics of the armor? I can slightly see that the dragon armor has two copperish dragon heads facing each other, and perhaps the lion ones are the same print on different color armor.

What and how does this comment add to the discussion? Please refrain from one word posts that do not add to the discussion. Thank you....naturally

Digging the "light brown beard" too! Generalized sets aside, this should be a refreshing line!

Defiantly! It's a great next step in Castle.Sir Prog wrote:Digging the "light brown beard" too! Generalized sets aside, this should be a refreshing line!
Here at C-C, people seem to be taking this new Castle line pretty well, but other places I've been, people are saying stuff like, "Man, this looks bad, I'm going to buy as many remaining sets as I can!"
Anybody else seeing this "hatred" sort of stuff across the internet? I think the sets and figs look pretty good...

Out of curiosity, where are you seeing the hatred? Eurobricks is the other site where I see people actively discussing these sets and the complaints seem to be minimal.Forestboy wrote:Defiantly! That out of the way, I really like these sets and I can't wait to get ahold of them. On Eurobricks there seems to be some debate as to when these are supposed to be released.

It could be that a great portion of the members here are actually castle fans. Not LOTR fans that were giddy over the fantasy era/LOTR wannabe sets we've had for the last cycle? Keep in mind, some members of certain 'other places' around the 'net are known for their, er, emotional responses to new LEGO products.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

Oh, sorry, well I guess "hatred" is a bit of a strong word , what I mean to say is...harshly criticizing ? Oh course all themes usually have weaknesses, but people tend to be dwelling on the negative, rather than the positive. I was just wondering if anybody else was noticing this.Tyrant wrote:Out of curiosity, where are you seeing the hatred? Yeah that probably explains it. I'm not a member, but I was just checkin' out a few sites. Thanks!Ye Olde Republic wrote:It could be that a great portion of the members here are actually castle fans. EDIT: About Eurobricks too, I take it that those "new images" are still confidential?

Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
Note: this is my opinion
Kingdom line is ok, from the pictures, but from experience I know that sets can surprise you in much better way then set pictures
And Lego company rarely built something that I do not like.
On the other hand, I was hoping of more "fantasy" based products (elves, angels etc). Being AFOL, I never play with sets, only build MOCs.
And 2009.-2010. Other Lego lines have A LOT of potential fantasy material (starwars, Harry Potter, Space police, Atlantis (oh, I can not what for that new armor . I also buy custom made armor and weapons.
And my basic building brick is 2x1
So, bricks in a set, for me, are not as important as accessories, and new unicorn armor and "great helm" are something I am looking forward to.
But, a little twist-off like wings, horns (like Mola Ram) and fantasy creatures are something I do long for...

Re: Lego Kingdoms at 2010 Toy Fair
I will be looking foward to these new sets. I had hoped that since LEGO had brought back the "Crown" faction they would bring back the "Lion" facton as well. I am glad LEGO had the fantasy elements and wished they would keep including more, yet I'm sure to like these just as much. I just can't wait to have these sets and have the task of developing the story for the two new factions.
I had to take a brake from LEGO due to job loss and moving from California to Colorado, but this is just what I needed to keep my spirits up and give me something to look forward to. Lions are my most favorite faction( if I had to pick only one) as they were the faction that brought me back to LEGO in the mid-eighties.

At this time, I don't think anyone knows... I'm guessing we'll find out a little after they are released (I think it's Fall) and when it comes close to the Christmas season.Frank_Lloyd_Knight wrote:Does anyone know for certain whether the Kingdoms 2010 Advent Calendar will be released in the U.S.?

I suppose it's reasonable to think that retailers could start recieving and putting August sets out on shelve just about any time now.
On a side note, are EB and Brickset related sites? They seem to be lumped together quite often, like username just did.

Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!
