Yes, actually It takes quite a lot of time to produce valuable content for this website, that's why there's not a lot of update :)

But indeed, I'm already happy because I know that at least two persons tried it. I know that the main obstacle is that you need to find a buddy to have a try, that's why I plan to think about a solo scenario where you will be able to play some heroes assailling some dragons (the dragons will also be played by you but based on some rules and random draw)! :D

Like I said before, I promise to release my next scenario in the Castle universe.

BOW updated

Post by banban »

Hi,
I'm digging up this discussion to inform you that I've published the version 1.2 of the rules. In this new version, nothing changed about the rules, but I rewrote some sentence and clarified some paragraph. I also added more pictures. The PDF of this new version contains 6 more pages but 194 less words which clearly shows that I tried to make it easier to read.

The place is still the same, and here is the direct link to the pdf.

I’ve also added some additional rules for those who want more! :)
Especially rules about Magician, but these rules miss of illustration pictures. I will try to add them later.

I also finally had the chance to test my own game with a friend of mine, and I can assure you that we got a lot of Fun!

Enjoy!

Hi there, as a guy who has also published a Lego-style bricks battle ruleset (also in this Forum), I commend you on your work. I know how difficult it is to write rules, not to mention test them. I found your ruleset to be very well thought out, and I like that any "record sheets" are replaced by bricks and the dice are also replaced by bricks. I thought this was a very fun mechanic and inventive. The game itself seemed complex to me, and because I have a short attention span, I didn't fully read or comprehend what is going on. Also, since I don't have any bricks (I only collect minifigz) I am unable to play. However, that doesn't mean your system isn't good, it just means it's more complex than the one I made. I tried to make one that was super fast and easy, that's why it's only 2 pages.

Good work, I like your illustrations and website and support your efforts.

Hi Stoob,

Thanks a lot for your support! :D
My ruleset seems complex because there are many pages, but actually it's because I put a lot of details and illustration. In fact I have a summary page at the end of the rule book, and this summary fit in one page. This game has been played successfully by children of 6~8 year old.

I plan to add a condensed version of the rule on 2 pages, to give a quick introduction to people who may be interested by BOW but may not want to spend to much time on it.

Bye.
