Re: [SW WIP] Clone Training Facility
Great. The big training unit looks just like...a complete cool room.
Is that Facility anywhere to see in the movies or books ?

Re: [SW WIP] Clone Training Facility
I know you've entitled it with "Clones," but I can't help but be reminded of the novel ENDER'S GAME. The 3-D lattice grid reflecting back on itself almost gives the impression of zero-gravity. Nice piece.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's from the 1st episode of the 3rd season of the Clone Wars cartoon series on Cartoon Network.Legoorci wrote:Great. The big training unit looks just like...a complete cool room.

Same here, first thing I thought of when I saw this.Frank_Lloyd_Knight wrote:I know you've entitled it with "Clones," but I can't help but be reminded of the novel ENDER'S GAME. The 3-D lattice grid reflecting back on itself almost gives the impression of zero-gravity. Nice piece.

Remember that the enemies gate is always down! Although I remember the battlerooms as being cubes with the gates on opposing faces.
This could also work as a ST:TNG Holodeck if the white were swapped for yellow......
I am unfamiliar with the details of the Clone Wars material, but this looks like well executed room(scene?). I like the technique for the dropped floor section, I like the way the corners are done.

Build? I merely Acquire atm.

I should probably look that up.twevans wrote:Same here, first thing I thought of when I saw this.Frank_Lloyd_Knight wrote:I know you've entitled it with "Clones," but I can't help but be reminded of the novel ENDER'S GAME. Somebody else mentioned in another forum about the X-Men, so I guess it reminds people of different scenes.Kosh wrote:Remember that the enemies gate is always down! Although I remember the battlerooms as being cubes with the gates on opposing faces.

Re: [SW WIP] Clone Training Facility
Absolutely incredible. That was the best Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode along with the one that followed for the show to date. Exceptional job. It's spot on.

Re: [SW WIP] Clone Training Facility
I strongly suggest you do look up & read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow.ACPin wrote:Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the novel.Frank_Lloyd_Knight wrote:I know you've entitled it with "Clones," but I can't help but be reminded of the novel ENDER'S GAME. But I recognized this for what you intended. Probably because I had just seen the episode in question. You did a good job getting all the details.
