How is everybody doing?
I'm a new user from MA. I have been lurking for a few months now, but figured it was time to join the community
I started collecting Lego when I was a kid. My parents couldn't afford much, so I only got two to three sets a year. After starting High School, my Lego hobby went in a box for 14 years. A couple of years ago, my wife and I went looking through my old stuff and we came across my Lego collection. It brought back many memories and it got me into collecting again. I got back just in time to collect most of the fantasy Castle line along with some Indiana Jones and Star Wars sets.
I am always on the lookout for Lego sales wherever I shop and have gotten some fantastic deals out of it. In fact, the $30 King's Castle Siege I got at Walmart was one of the first sets I got after getting back into Lego again
I'll see you around the forums!

Welcome, Condor, to the site. Its nice to see someone from The Bay State. I lived in North Quincy many years ago and went to the grade school my grandfather went to. A lot of cool history in the greater Boston area.
Hitting up Wal-Mart is a great way to get some good deals, but I have noticed that not all Wal-Marts have sales like that. Bricklink.com is another good source of LEGO, especially for minifigures or bulk brick orders.

Welcome to CC- Which I might not be the best one to say because of my youthful membership, but I couldn't resist a good ol' G'neckneck once every few weeks.

If I were to make something out of LEGOs, I would probably use LEGOs. Pretty advanced stuff going on up in my head.
Re: Hi everyone
Thanks everyone for the welcomes!
I also like Castle (obviously ), Harry Potter, Star Wars and the Modular Buildings. I only got into Town when I was a kid though so my first real Castle set was the one I mentioned in the OP. I'm waiting to get some good deals on the Kingdoms line. I did pick up the Advent Calendar though since there are some cool parts in there. The wizard in there makes up for me not being able to get the Good Wizard set.
Yeah, Walmart is definitely a hit or miss. Their stock room must also have some kind of time warp because I've seen some old sets re-appear after a few years. I found a Mars Mission ETX Mother Ship for $20 there last year. I think it was discontinued in 2007?
I'm not really sure if I have one favorite theme. I guess I'll have to go with the large scale models. My wife and I finished building the Taj Mahal a few weeks ago and it is very impressive. I've also built the Eiffel Tower and am looking forward to getting the Tower Bridge. The only bad thing is that after building those, every other set just seems so smallLegoorci wrote:Welcome to CC !

Oh nice, I'm from up north, in Andover. Boston is definitely a cool place. When walking around in Boston, I think about what the buildings would say if they could talk with all the history they've been a part of. I'm actually originally from NYC, but went to college in New Hampshire and got so used New England that I ended up moving here.Tower of Iron Will wrote:Welcome, Condor, to the site.
