Battle of Wits Redux

Post by elondisc »

Hey all,

I attempted to do a quick battle of wits a little while back and was very unsatisfied with the results. This was my attempt to create a better MOC than the first. I did it in one afternoon while visiting my parents away from graduate school. I thought I had a lot more green and brown than I actually do, which made it hard to get to detailed into the scenery. It is also my first real MOC of any kind and I couldn't figure out how to take pictures that really got a view of the scene (that may just be poor MOC construction). Anyway, I think the story I had in my head for it was better than how the MOC actually turned out and presents itself.

For the MOC; two feuding lords have decided to resolve a dispute through a battle of wits, not by actually fighting. Lord Dragoon has brought his wizard and Lord Roaron has brought his court jester. One considers there champion the smartest in his fiefdom while the other thinks his is the wittiest one in the land. The King has sent his soldiers to preside over the battle and has ordered them to chain up all weapons that were brought and to have them guarded in the ruins of the old watch tower. The King also ordered a watch tower to be built so that his men could see if any ambush was to take place or if armies approached. However, the watchtower was hastily constructed and the peace will soon be broken.

very cool, it really looks like there in a forest. the ruins need something (maybe half a broken arch way).I like that there are a lot of minifigs but its not over crowded it gives the impression of a much larger group.

.P.S why dose the jester have a dagger?

It can definitively be said that this is vastly superior to my first posted Moc :). good work though(and this may just be me not reading carefully) I had envisioned the king and the baron facing off advised by the jester and wizard. the ramshackle tower is spiffy (or rather it's spiffy from a moc point of view whereas it isn't spiffy from the point of view of a minifig which is the point is it not .)

p.s. as to the dagger I think that's the bit in the write up about how chaos will ensue
He who thinks you should look at the box that says "Quaraga" if you want to find out his username (about as useful to you as his real name). he only wants you to look so he can laugh about you looking there because he's a total smart...

The jester has a dagger because the wizard had a wand and I wanted to give him a "spell casting tool" as well. If you look through the pictures there is one of a dragon knight with a knife sneaking up behind a lion knight.

Nice MOC!
Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven’t seen the back of us yet
