Your most purchased sets

Post by Redav »

Been tinkering with bits and pieces at home (nothing worth sharing) and was wondering what sets others have acquired the most to do what you do?

I don't have much but for me I have four copies of Black Falcon's Fortress and three copies of the Forestmens Fortress, Siege Tower, Armourer and Viking Voyager.

For castle sets, it would have to be the Prison Carriage Rescue set from the Kingdoms line. It is a great way to gather up an army of both factions, plus a horse even

My most purchased set of any theme would be the Cannon Battle pirate set. Cannon, plus useful figs and parts for so cheap? how can I go wrong?

Hello!

(I never had a whole fleet of them built at the same time, as I mostly purchased the Catapult for its parts and figures.)

I bought six of the Knight's Showdown and six of the Prison Carriage Rescue sets. Both to help build up our new armies right away. My son took the Lions and I took the Dragons. We split the horses. :D

Interesting choice. I can understand what you're after though. With having three of the Forestmen River Fortress, I have a lot more slopes than before.

I had either five or six each of the crownie sets Balista Attack and Dwarves Mine Defender. For larger sets I also bought two each of the Dwarves Mine and the MMV.

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=4806-1 I have around 15 of them. They were only 3 pound where I lived and they had so much. In fact I would say they are one of my favourite all time lego sets

Hey,

I'm the same as Richardanthonyc. I found a shelf full of axe carts:

on sale and bought the lot (about 20). Great army builder - a good fig, shield, and five weapons.

Prison Carriage Rescue. One of the best, IMO, army builder sets for Kingdoms.

I own about 13 of them, and I'm not stopping there. :)

Exactly. Black 75° slopes, Black Falcons, dark grey round shields. And most likely I'll never run out of grey wedge belt wheels...

Another set I got multiples of for parts is 4817, mostly for the silver armour and black nose protector helmet, not so much for the useless turret part.

Not sure it this counts as a castle set, but I bought 25 Spartans from Collectible Minifigures Series 2.

I also bought 13 Court Jesters and 8 Axe Carts.

Moving on to larger sets, I bought at least 4 copies of Medieval Market Village. Possibly more if there are any hiding in my closet. I also bought 5 or more copies of Legend Black Falcon's Fortress. (actual number unknown.)

Before my dark ages (1992-2002), I bought multiples of only two Castle sets because I didn't know it was okay to buy multiples. They were Battle Dragon and Black Monarch's Ghost.

Generally speaking, I bought sets in multiples for parts/figs or because I got them at a great price.

For older sets, I always am on the lookout for Wolfpack Renegades (I think I have 4 copies of the set now) as it's a great source of weapons / gear.

I picked up 4 copies of the MMV a couple years ago when it first came out. It's a great parts pack and I believe we've covered that in other threads here in the past.

More recently I picked up 5 copies of the new Village Mill Raid - another great set that has lots of potential and lots of great figs / animals / supplies to offer. I'm also looking at picking up more copies of the new Blacksmith Attack (already have 3 but planning about 9 more). That too is a great parts pack and I can see using those pieces for years to come.

Castle set I own the most copies of:

4811 Defense Archer - 21 copies

Castle set that when combined got me the most pieces:

6097 Night Lord's Castle - 6 copies (3588 pieces from that set)

Castle set that when combined got me the most minifigs:

6074/10039 Black Falcon's Fortress - 4 original copies, 4 re-released copies, (48 minifigs)
- OR -
6097 Night Lord's Castle - 6 copies (48 figs from that set, though I usually don't count skeletons, so 42)

Castle: About 10 x The Knight. IMO the best impulse set ever; a great fig, and enough extra gear to turn any generic minifig into another castle soldier.

Any theme: 25 x Zamor Spheres. (They were free).
