"Very" light gray?

Postby AK_Brickster » Fri Aug 05, 2011 5:23 pm

Hey I'm looking at some 1x1 plates on bricklink and they're listed as "Very light gray". What color is this? Can someone show me side-by-side the difference between VLGray and LGray or LBley?

Thanks!

Those were only issued (afaik) with the mosaic sets, so they had five shades - white, very light gray, light gray, dark gray, and black. I made a Pooh mosaic for my wife.

Most of his face is in the very light gray color. That shadow part between his eyes is (old) light gray.

I think the same shade is also in some accessories, but not other bricks or plates.

I don't have any pics but I can confirm that they exist and that they came in Mosaic sets. I got several bags from a bin of random bags the Lego store was selling during BrickCon one year.

Very light gray was discontinued with the rest of the old grays in 2003.

Thanks Bruce. That picture was very helpful. I guess I'll pick up a few hundred of the 1x1's. Could be useful for cobblestones or to break up an all-white patch of snow or something. :)

I've got some packets of them. They were selling them real cheap when the mosaics were discontinued. I bought them for the purposes you mentioned, but have never even taken them out of the packets.

Not to change this to a "buy, sell, trade" post, but either of you interested in parting with them for a good price? :raiseone:
