Here's a fortified tower overlooking an oasis, for the desert bit of the Castle layout at BrickCon 2011:

I think Earth Orange is my new favourite colour, so there'll be more desert-y MOCs soon! :D

Mmmmm... Gotta love that dark orange...

But seriously, this thing is awesome! Can't wait to see it in person (not to mention you...) and yeah, that's all I've got for now. Great job, it looks fantastic!

In love with the dark orange,

I love your ability to make modest-sized MOCs look absolutely imposing. This is another fine example of a build that looks far larger than a 32x32 MOC ever should. It's absolutely beautiful. I really like the way you've framed the windows. The use of tan and other earth tones here works perfectly and the green oasis beside the tower is a nice touch. Good stuff!

I really like the way you did your mottling, the way the small tower sits on top is rather neat as well. The curved wall to join the two towers looks very nice too. Your base, landscaping is quite well done. All around a great MOC!

Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to seeing more of the desert display. :D

I also really like the orange/tan combination and the mottled effect looks really great. I think my favorite part is the dome on top, I'm guessing it's actually a hexagon? The angled wedges give it a nice round look regardless. Have a safe trip, hope you and the castle make it there safely!

I agree, it's my favorite part of the MOC. The rear door looks nice too.

Nice job. Right now, I could not build it. Hope the oasis doesn't dry up. :sly:

I am no longer disappointed at how many sets have tan bricks in them - this is really great. The composition is just spot on - it has a great color palate and the right amount of detail.

Neither could I, Quite impressive.
It would be just my luck (as a military commander) to capture the tower and then have it dry up right afterward.

My one nit... I wouldn't want to drink such green water... looks like a pretty brackish oasis :halo:
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Hey, scummy water's better than no water :tasty:

But in all seriousness, I'm digging the mottled effect.
