Age of Empires 2 Barracks

Post by Sir_Darc »

This is a prototype barracks for the tenative Age of Empires 2 collaborative project, which is still way, way off, but I thought I'd share this anyway.

And since it's technically a bit smaller than minifig scale, I wonder if it counts toward the MCC contest... naw, too close.

Anyway, enjoy! Comments, criticisms are welcome.

That barrack looks really nice. I, too, like the roof, and I think that this MOC is well on the way to effectively resemble a Castle Age Western/Eastern European barracks.
I wish i lived a place were i could collaborate to this project, it looks like a great idea...

The planked corners are cool. The moc has a nice texture throughout. Definitley recognizable from the game. Good Job.
You would rather be building right now.

Wow, instantly recognizable. Great work on that roof especially.

Hah, this is cool, brings back memories - so many wasted hours. Nice build.

Wow I've considered making an aoe 2 Moc for some time, but I wasn't willing to put aside the parts from my smallish collection. Very Nice.

Great job, Jubal!

Any way to replace the red ridge line with blue since that's going to be the main faction color?
I probably won't get a chance to build much in the immediate future since we're doing a lot of house-hunting on weekends, but if we can get into a house, that will give me a LOT more room to work on things.

Bringing this to SeaLug next weekend?

Keep up the good work!

I'd need to order some more parts, don't think I have enough in blue. In fact, there's several places where I ran out of a color.

I've got family visiting next weekend, so probably not. I'd be up for a visit some other time. Beats only coming for Brickcon once a year.

Oh, and thanks all for the comments! I wasn't completely happy with the roof color myself, but I only had a couple tiles in large enough quantity.

Not sure what I'll do next. Maybe finally give myself a sigfig...

Great job. Easy to recognize. Maybe you could add the shields on the sides of the entry.

Cool MOC. I still play AOE2 online all the time. A Viking/Teutonic Castle would be pretty cool to do as well

Check out our thread in the Events section. I'm planning on doing the Teuton castle for the collaborative. It's going to be great!
