Castle Displays at Brickfair Alabama 2012

Post by Busboy489 »

I thought I'd post a little wrap up for the Castle diplays at Brickfair Alabama. I had a great time at my first convetion and was very happy to see some great castle diplays make it out. I met up with one other CC member, Noah McClung(Glory_Forever), at the event and we had a great time discussing our techniques and projects. I also enjoyed meeting "Mr. Red" and his lovely wife at the event. I believe he is fairly well known among the event goers and had quite a few great discussions with him throughout the weekend. Please visit my flickr and check out the pictures from the event

Great pics Stefan! Also good to hear of your experiences with Noah, Jesse, and the aptly named "Mr. Red". Relatively smaller castle section obviously, but not bad at all considering that it is a newer event. Also, the quality is what matters, and you guys certainly have plenty. Hope you had a good time!

I kinda wish I had went now. Instead of spending the $40 in gas, etc to go because I thought that was too much, I went spent $150 on bricklink lol Oh well... If it is there next year I think I will go, and actually exhibit. I have big plans for some major castle creations.

Hey,

These look gorgeous. I would love to have been there to see these in person!

One quick question - do you know who made the big yin/yang mosaic? It won 'best fire', but I can't make out the builder's name in the photo I saw.

Sharon Prue built the fire mosaic. I didn't get a chance to really speech with her , but I'm fairly certain she is rather new to the community. I could be wrong, I met quite a few people that weekend.
