The OTHER 2012 Lego Castle

Post by Kev »

Monster Fighters is a new announced theme for 2012. One of the best parts of it is that it comes with a pretty cool castle! There have been some videos and pics released from the Nuremberg Toy Fair. You can see a pretty nice view of the castle, and the whole line, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igQ-x_Y-p0M

I will definitely be picking this up. It's more like half a castle, but I like the design for what it is, and it has real possibilities.

Castle looks good. A bit too many panels for my taste, but the palette looks good. This is a lot better for us castle builders than the average non-castle line, that's for sure.

Not bad. The castle looks decent and a few of the minifigs look good. I doubt I'll get any of these, not even the castle, because I'll concentrate on getting ahold of the Joust, various LOTR sets, some collectable minifigures, and maybe some parts from Bricklink. Sheesh, now that I've listed all that, I'm wondering where I'll get the cash! Here's to hoping for a Lego/money-filled birthday!

I had previously written off this line, but the video has given me pause. I love the design ethos of the sets; they really give off a Munsters feel, and the ghost train is gorgeous.

I also will likely pass. But I gotta admit it is really well designed line and it is tempting! The new ghosts are incredible! That castle is really attractive. I like the tall conical rooftops. The train is great as well. TLG is just so awesome.

Yea looks good, but I think I`ll pass to. Castle has some useful parts and therre is some new minifigs and a new (somewhat changed, but not much :o ) ghost. If I still were a kid and this would have been available back then, I would definitely wanted it. But not now. :D

I agree with others that these sets look good, but I will pass on this theme. I think there are too many panels in that castle. Especially compared to the joust and incoming LOTR sets, this castle is outclassed.

Besides the obvious castle parts and uses, I saw quite a few parts that I could use for steampunk builds, such as the hero minifigs. As someone who builds both castle and steampunk, I am excited about this theme. I think this is a great direction for Lego to go. These sets have plenty of clash and look like something that I would want to play with. I thought the vacuum airplane looked rather ridiculous, but hey, I have seen worse.

I think as with most of the themes nowadays i'll only be interested in the minifigs, but they are looking fantastic it has to be said.

I like the designs and really like all the GID elements. But it sounds like these are going to be a higher price point than other lego themes, so I will probably hold out for closeout pricing.

While I fall into the "realistic castle" group of fans, this new fantasy castle has great play features and is very well designed. Other elements such as the new ghost will also be great additions to our theme.

Yeah, I doubt I'll be getting any of these since I have all my budget set on Bricklink and LOTR.

I'll definitely be buying multiples of the castle. I'm thinking of converting it into an exaggerated style of castle perched on a cliff. Based on the castle in the Count Duckula cartoons. :D
I also want multiples of the werewolf sets. I need those olive green leaf parts.
