I was wondering if it would be OK in the future for me to post Amazon.com "Lightning Deals" in a location other than the "Buy/Sell/Trade" forum.
This is due to the fact that the deals are extremely time-sensitive, and I know a lot of people don't go into that forum as regularly as say, the MOCs or (thanks to the LCC) Stories forums.
For example, there were two deals on large sets for 40%+ off today, and my thread in the B/S/T forum only has 18 views on it even hours after the fact. It would be nice if there was a better way to get the word out to people so that we all can benefit from this sort of discount.
Once the sale was over, the thread could be deleted from the normally incorrect forum or archived to the B/S/T section.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Re: Question regarding time-sensitive bargains
I have very mixed feelings on this. While I agree that most people don't look at B/S/T that often, it could also be argued that they aren't looking for information about deals here at CC.
The Amazon Lightning Deals are over quickly, by definition, so I think people will just have to take their chances or educate themselves to check the B/S/T forum if you are going to keep posting them there.
Does that make sense?
Josh

Whatever you think is best. I got both of them, so it doesn't affect me
Just figured I'd throw it out there for consideration

Re: Question regarding time-sensitive bargains
No. Sales topics belong in the BST forum. Fans who want to know this information will check BST or other fan sites.
Thanks,
Ben

Re: Question regarding time-sensitive bargains
Well, I'd submit that I would be interested in that information, but I don't check the BST thread more than once a day at most, compared to checking the MOCs forum a few times per day.
But you guys are in charge, so I will abide by your decision.
Thanks Ben and Josh

Re: Question regarding time-sensitive bargains
You could create a specific thread in the BST forum for these time-sensitive deals: people who want to be notified without checking the forum too often could then subscribe to this one thread.
