A New member saying hi

Post by Coolidge »

Screenname:
Coolidge

Realname:
Damien

Age:
26(1986)

Location:
From San Diego, California
Live in Sweden

Profession:
Student/Temp Teacher

Website:
Have none atm.

Themes I Build In:
I will be building Castle mostly but also intend on doing some sci-fi.

First Castle Set:
6082 Fire Breathing Fortress

Favorite Castle Set:
6090-1 Royal Knight's Castle
http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6090-1

Favorite MOC (at this time) of my own:
Don't have any yet.

Favorite MOC of someone else's:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sirens-of-titan/ especially his rise of the mage series and http://www.flickr.com/photos/mark-of-falworth/

Favorite non-Castle theme:
Does Lord of the Rings count?:) Other than that i'd hafto say old school sci-fi lego from the 90's from when I was growing up.

Favorite Castle theme:
Fantasy Castle, with the trolls and dragons. Kingdoms ain't far behind.

If you were to be in the medieval ages, what would you be:
A bastard son of a nobleman that rises to greatness. (Basically Jon Snow from Game of Thrones)

Do you own a copy of the legendary 3033?
Can't say i do.

Some stuff about me:
Quite recently (june/july) this year got back into lego while temping at a school with 1-3rd graders after I lost my job, since they all had alot of cool lego. This got me really tempted and I have since bought lego every time i get payed. I then found alot of MOC's on flickr and through that found this site. I'm a complete rookie when it comes to MOC's hopefully I'll learn some new stuff here and atm I don't have a camera for taking pictures so would appreciate any tips on any good not too expensive camera. Also curious if there are like any types of tutorials on how to get the pictures as good as some of the guys mentioned above, I have NO experience when it comes to taking pictures so once again any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Build, enjoy, you'll figure out photography over time, don't worry about that. Just enjoy yourself.

Welcome to Classic Castle. Stay a while, but mind the carpet, it's new.
What's your price range for a camera?

Hmm id say roughly 200 euros. I don't know jack about cameras tbh but at the same time don't wanna spend too much on one because that's money lost on lego! :)

Hi, welcome aboard.

Re: LOTR, I think you will find that to be a fairly divisive question. I see it as no less "Castle" than the other fantasy sets released over the past few years but others don't see it that way. :) FWIW worth I think Helm's Deep may be the best castle they have ever produced.

It is a great set i loved building it and it did give plenty of parts for future builds.

Thanks for all the greetings and making feel at home here! Should start posting pics around x-mas time or after new years, maybe earlier who knows.
