A CCer Author

Post by Formendacil »

...well, a self-published e-author anyway!

Those of you who have been around a few (like... 6 or more) years may remember that I spent a LOT of time in the collaborative storytelling section of the forum better known as the Gaming Forum, and anyone who's visited my signature link knows that I've told a few visual, comic-styled LEGO stories. So it should come as know surprise that I like writing, or that I specifically like fantasy writing.

Yesterday this longterm trend bore some major fruit, when I self-published a book on Amazon. Perhaps, you might say, this thread should have gone into the Publishing Forum (and it might yet), but books are like children to authors--and so far I have no children. Battlelord of Thalmandar is arguably the fruit of 19+ years of being a Castle LEGO fan. The very first thing I ever wrote (outside of school) was a LEGO story and the very first medieval/fantasy story I ever wrote was a LEGO Castle story--and my writing got a lot of practice right here on Classic-Castle in the gaming forums.

So, since I know people around here might have at least a passing interest in fantasy, you're all invited to check it out. Obviously, *I*'ll be happy if anyone decides they want to buy it, but the main goal at the moment is to celebrate. :D

As I have already told you, congratulations. Be proud, shout it on roof tops. Enjoy the thrill of knowing your words are in print (electronic print counts!).

That's so cool man! I'm hoping to write a story someday, and looks like more inspiration is going around. :)

Congratulations! I read the sample and I think I may have to buy the book. The bonus is that we all know what you look like now. ;)

PS. When are you coming down to BrickCon with Gerard?
AFOL and his money are easily parted.

Thanks, guys! If any of you do end up reading it, by all means let me know what your think, or post a review of it.

Well, given that I live in New England nowadays, I doubt I'll ever come with the EK, and who knows when I'll make it there cross-country... Maybe I'll make that my personal life goal for 2015 or something.

Or how about this: if my book becomes a bestseller and I find myself less post-grad school poor, I'll come this year. :D
