Oh, and power grabs on the first day are not quite kosher.
The Dave has ancient celestial powers with which you should not attempt to contend. Fear The Dave!

Thanks Bruce for the background infoBruce N H wrote: As noted above, Dave is a member of CC since just about the beginning, and also of the larger LEGO community. His personal site is here. You may remember his Viking village being a category winner a couple of CCC's back or have used his LEGO-to-real-life measurement conversion tool, or seen his work in person at various cons. He's probably not as prolific in posting in the forum (or even posting his MOCs online - I remember an amazing multi-dragon layout at BrickFest years ago that he never posted online), you may note when he does post it's with deep expertise. Where he has been very active is behind the scenes - he's done a lot of programming for things like the CCC. That's more what he'll probably be focused on as an admin - working in a more official way on site architecture.

Yea after I commented I checked posts through his CC username and recognised some of his stuff.
I came out of my dark ages in the end of 2010 so I don´t know so much about others stuff before that. Some I have lurked in the CC archives and past CCC entries and winners.
Thanks Dave, it is fun to know a bit of info about the persons who are on this awesome forum and also does alot of work to make it stay that way. So thanks to all who do the "dirty work" so we members can enjoy the fun and ruin the topics with our stupied questions and remarksdavee123 wrote:
Hey, I'm Dave, AKA DaveE, AKA Dave Eaton, AKA davee123! And as your new admin, I claim the right of Primum Figurae Femininae, the right to all your first female minifigures! ... Or... no? I'm being told no. Darn.
I've been in the LEGO community since 1999, back when LUGNET was pretty much the be-all, end-all place for LEGO discussion. That was one of the first places where castle fans battled space fans, and I put in a good fight to keep our post count higher than those ne'er do-well space-heads. At the time, I was a prominent castle builder (I built mostly castle and Star Wars at the time), and got a few awards at some of the early BrickFests (2001-2006). My Medieval Village from 2001 was considered really cool at the time, and was featured in Ikros. I also built some Rock Golems and a Red Dragon which have been referenced in Classic-Castle's Brick-Built-Beasts. In more recent years, I haven't done as much building and posting as I'd like (I've got a son who's now 19 months old), but you might remember my Viking Village from CCC VIII.
In my day job, I'm a developer. A web developer, as it turns out. I've done a few projects for the LEGO community, like a LEGO Scale Converter, a BrikWars 2001 Vehicle Scorer (back when it was painful to score vehicles by hand), the current CCC system for Classic-Castle (since CCCVI), a LUGBULK interface for my local club (which I've been trying to get LEGO to adopt), and a BrickLink price history utility (similar sad fate, awaiting approval by BrickLink admins), and even some minor work on LUGNET, Peeron, and (technically) LDraw.
As mentioned, I've been here on Classic-Castle since ... pretty much the beginning. I joined back in June of 2004 (a short 9 months after C-C started), I've just never been uber-vocal. And on that note, I'm probably not going to be doling out reprimands for abuse in the forums, or sponsoring any new building contests or anything. I'm more interested in doing some fun things with the site software itself-- like improving the CCC code to allow other management of other contests, turning the set guide into a bona fide database, and maybe getting a different CMS set up for various content.
Anyway, that's me!
