Post by JPinoy »

Does anyone know the builder of this "Battle of Helms Deep" creation at the Kentucky Brick Expo?

Such a massive layout!

After looking around I found the build on MOCpages here. I'm guessing that this is the person who built it.

I am not that impressed actually. It look like he just scaled up the design of the set. DNL's is much better looking IMHO, though it is smaller, it encompasses the entire helms deep. The rock work on DNL's is also much more detailed

Gentlemen...you are off task. Please refrain from comments that are not about the Helms Deep. Or this thread will be locked and that would be most unfortunate. Thank you.

it may seem to be just a scaled up version of the other build. however. this version seems more in keeping with the movie scene...

The army was HUGE, the castle was HUGE. the Elven archer army was at least 200 strong. so to me this build is incredibly accurate.

Yeah I saw this before somewhere and my reaction was: :twitch: .In its size and the build techniques it is very impressive, but I wish he included all of the hornburg.

Pretty amazing. For me personally, I kinda prefer quality over quantity. But that doesn't take away from the impressive work done on this.

So, I'm guessing around $20k to $30k in LEGO here? This MOC is truly impressive, but how many of us could afford something like this? I am glad that he/she did however, this is a feast for the eyes...

For those pedantic in nature there were no Elves at Helms Deep, around 1,300 men of Rohan defending and nearly 2 thousand Dunledings in the assault also :tasty:
