Dwarf Engineer Helmet?

Post by Thunedar »

Greetings all.

I am currently working a mod to a couple of my Dwarfs to make them more "engineer "y" I currently have the mining helms from Power Miners and am loathe to cut them to fit over the beards the Dwarfs have. I like the helmet because of the goggles and of course simple functionality and looks.

Has anyone had any luck with the current Dwarf beards Lego uses and different styles of helmet outside of the Dwarf helms and the Beanie (Commonly used on City inmates)

I may cut one helm and take pictures to show everyone.

Input appreciated.

I had the same problem, and I did find a solution, though I'm not sure if it will be to your liking. I used Brickforge dwarf helms, which work very well and look more "engineery." However, If you are not into customizing my only advice is to use the regular long LEGO beard, which allows for more variety of headgear to go on. However, while this looks decent it is not perfect.

Yea, I have a few with the old beard. It looks alright, but all my engineers can't be scared white or old. Engineers just don't live that long.

I might look at the other helms, but I was hoping to use the goggles.

I'll see how it works out.

Thanks for the suggestion.

If you want to use the helmets as is, you could use the Brickforge Dwarf Beard. It comes in a range of colors and should fit without any modding.

Yea, I've seen the Brick Forge beards. They just don't feel "dwarfy" enough for Dwarfs.

I am a bit disappointed that most Lego head wear doesn't work with the Dwarf beards but I can work around it of course.

I may cut and put together an engineer this weekend to see what I can come up with.

Expect pics this weekend.

I know this doesn't use the dwarf beard. But if you use the space police alien helmet

and a bearded face it looks pretty good. The helmet has the rivets which is how I imagined engineers to look.. It also fits the power miners goggles .. which you could add.

Thats actually a pretty neat idea.

That could be a Slayer/Engineer helmet. I've been trying to find a mohawk in red for a slayer looking Dwarf Lego.

I suppose I could figure out a way for a beard to come out below that helm.

If you use the "old beard" and put the pirate beanie on, the gogles fit in between :) i had the same problem

If this is the old beard you're talking about, it does also come in black and tan.

Also, do you have any of these yet? I imagine that they would go quite well with Dwarven Engineers.

You could combine the ninjago sensei beard with the aviator helmet and goggles, like this...

This is the technique I use for my own dwarf engineer...

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the ideas all, been a while since I've been able to get back to things.

I've just gotten into my new place and am currently unpacking/reorganizing my collection.

Hopefully I'll get some more photos up of what I've done, and get back to work with my minifig mods.

Thanks again.
