Deadliest Catch

Post by mrcp6d »

Two Norsemen introduce a couple Mitgardians to the clans' traditional summer Ice Haddock fishing activities off the Isles of Solitude. Ice Haddock serves as a protein staple in most Mitgardians' diets--fresh in the summer and salted or cold smoked in the winter--and as a major trade item with Avalonian and Kaliphlinite merchants. The Norsemen did not, however share that Ice Haddock makes excellent bait for luring in Western Sea Serpents...

I haven't had much time to build since CCCX ended, but when did, I was usually tweaking things on that sea serpent. I think it turned out pretty good, but that head is kind of heavy. Are there any dragon/monster/mech builders out there with tips or tricks for holding arms/legs/tails/etc in place?

You've got some really great designs in here. From the actual Sea Serpent, to how you've got the water, or even the boat, I really dig this MOC. Also, nice choice of minifig faces. Keep it up!

This is one of the better MOCs I've seen in a while. I likehe landscaping and how realistic the rocks look with the snow above the water.
I absolutely adore how you have the water, offering a different perspective so we can see underneath. That Viking helm hidden down there gives a great touch of detail

I think more than anything, is the uniqueness of the water. It's not something you see everyday so it really stands out.
Your brick-built serpent is top notch!
I'd love to see a MOC depicting what happened in the fight (bloody serpent head or shattered boat?).

Great job! I am a big fan of the serpent. Very cool water technique too.
You would rather be building right now.

This is awesome! The rocks and mountain are superb. I LOVE the boat design, and the sea serpent actually turned out great, one of the best sea serpents out there. The water is really detailed, and I like the above water/underwater separate views. Honestly just perfect moc.

I build dragons and serpents a lot, I have built maybe 2 serpents and 2 dragons. My serpents sucked completely, yours is inspirational. For dragons I am mostly inspired by the old vikings line, and I really like the dragons from that. So I use the same techniques for wing attachment a lot, and sometimes for legs as well. Currently working on a black dragon inspired by LOTR fell beasts.

Neat serpent! Won't ever go serpent fishing myself though!
