Ten years!
Hey all,
Ten years ago two things came together. There were several people interested in telling LEGO-illustrated castle stories, and many were unhappy with the online options available to them. Also, there was a move to create collaborative displays at AFOL events, and a group of builders got together at BrickFest to hammer out the details of a building standard (what became known as the Classic-Castle City standard). The conversation continued as a series of e-mails, and on September 15, 2003, a new forum was announced, Classic-Castle.com, the source for all your LEGO Castle needs. The years since have included ten Colossal Castle Contests with nine Master Builders (no MB that first year) and numerous other contests. Mascot figs Henry and Harold have criss-crossed the globe, visiting builders in many countries. The Classic-Castle Role Play ran for about five years, and now a new collaborative world, the Lands of Classic-Castle has arisen and has been going strong for almost a year and a half. We've seen the downfall of the Jelly Bean Knights, the rise of the Fantasy Era, followed by Kingdoms and now Castle, with lots of great sets and new figures. We've also seen Vikings, Prince of Persia, and now an oft-requested Tolkien line, not to mention lots of great castle figs in the Collectible lines. The number of MOCs we've built as a group is uncountable. In the ten years we've been here, we've gained 2961 members, started over 22,000 topics and made over a quarter million posts! On behalf of all of the admins and mods, I'd like to thank you, all of the CC members, for making this one of the best forums on the web. It's been a great decade, let's party!

Re: Ten years!
First at all Congrats to all the Classic-Castle.com staff for having this Lego Castle place in the internet, I think is the most important source related to this theme. Also, I want to say thank you because you have this place up to day and you all are unbreakable, the ToS is strongly followed and I'm happy of that.
I remember that my first lego were castle sets at my 8 year old. Now, since my 20's I found another flavor to the castle building thanks to this place and all the people here. Particularly, I'm not good building castle MOCs but I like a lot all the designs showed here, especially those showed in the contests.
That's why more than a game, building with Lego is like an art, just like making a sculpture or composing a musical piece.
I hope you all keep the good work as you always do, and I'll be looking for the 20th anniversary celebration, of course

Re: Ten years!
Thank you to all those who got/kept CC going. I haven't been here that long, (a bit over two years now), but I've enjoyed taking part in two CCCs and plan to participate again this year.
Classic-Castle was what got me into the online community and I've received much useful building advice here, not to mention seeing all the inspiring models built by others

How the time flies! I thought I'd been on here a while but turns out it's only been two years. Think I must have been lurking for a brief time before that.
Pat on the back for everyone involved in making the site run, and being part of a great community. From the CCC's to the LCC, I've learnt a lot regarding MOCing as well as the general history of Lego. Here's to another 10.

It seems that I don't patrol these beloved corridors as much as I would like these days, but I thought it would be good to poke my head in. A huge thank you to all of the admins who have been with it from the start, sweating and working through all of the tough issues. Long live Classic Castle!

Woohoo!
That's totally cool. The Classic Castle forums is one of my favorite places to hang out. From conversing about the LCC, looking at builds and reading all the posts, it's been so great to here. I've only been a little over a year, so I hope to stick around for many more with all you fine folks! Looking forward to what the future holds for this place!

Re: Ten years!
Thanks to everyone who makes this site possible. This is one of my favorite places on the web, and I've made friendships through this forum that I think will last a long time, many with people that I'll likely never meet in person.
We have a great community here, full of first-class people. Thanks to all of our members who make this site what it is.
Here's to another 10 years! Long live Classic-Castle!

Re: Ten years!
My only regret with CC is that I would have gotten around to it a lot sooner.
This is easily the best forum I have ever been involved in, and I have been heavily involved in online forums (some for over ten years!).
I cannot thank the staff at CC enough for hosting such an amazing site.
If I am ever that far up in Ohio, I plan on stopping into Troy's store and spending enough to keep this site up for a whole year
Thank you, all of you, that invest your valuable time and consideration to this amazing site.
Here's to 10 more!

Re: Ten years!
Fantastic! I look forward to ten more years, when I can legitimately claim to be a Castle veteran. I love this site, and I hope it lasts longer than the Internet itself! (Don't ask me how, just roll with my enthusiasm here.)

Re: Ten years!
It's hard to believe it has been 10 years. I wasn't a member from the beginning, but at the time I was member 400 or something like that. Then the purge of all the 0 post members happened. I agree CC is a great place. I've made many a great friend here. And can't wait to make others.

Re: Ten years!
Time flies. It seems like not too long ago that a small group of fans decided to create a place on the web just for LEGO castle.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Classic-Castle including the admins, moderators, programmers, interviewees, prize donors, and company employees. But I especially want to thank the regular members of Classic-Castle. Your creativity, discussions, and activities are what keep LEGO castle active online around the world. Thanks!

Re: Ten years!
Thank you to all the admins that had the drive and will to make this place happen back then at the start. The original "Castle World" had died but thanks to the founders and their love of Castle LEGO created something different and better at the same time. Thanks to all the past and current admins, mods, frequent and not so frequent posters who never let the adoration of Castle LEGO die. This was and still is my main source for Castle info, and I don't see that changing. Thanks.
